Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 29th March, 1894.
COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been ac-
cepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in
such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee
of 10s. is payable with such notice:—
No. 6239.—16th June, 1893.—Robert Orr, of the Lower
Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand, Law Clerk. An invention
for further-improved scraping machinery for dressing New
Zealand flax and other fibrous plants. (Specification, 10s.;
drawings, £1.)*
No. 6262.—26th June, 1893.—George Percy, of Welling-
ton, New Zealand, Printer. An invention for a new or
improved apparatus for indicating the residents in streets,
and their occupations; also for advertising and other
matters. (Specification, 4s.; drawings, 10s.)*
No. 6270.—1st July, 1893.—John Featon, of Haslett
Street, Eden Terrace, Auckland, New Zealand, Miner. An
invention entitled "The Automatic Mine-ventilator."

No. 6708.—9th March, 1894.—John Jerger, of Goulburn,
New South Wales, Watchmaker. An invention for improve-
ments in apparatus for washing alluvial deposits and other
materials containing free gold, to extract the same therefrom.

No. 6720.—14th March, 1894.—Ernest Edward Nesbit,
of Adelaide, South Australia, Gentleman. An invention for
an improved mode of, and apparatus for, intercepting the
slimes from mineral-ores, and saving and concentrating the
metal contained in such slimes. (Specification, 7s. 6d.;

boxes for the manufacture of artificial sandstone. (Specifi-

No. 6733.—21st March, 1894.—Andrew Jardine Hunter,
of 125, Great Portland Street, London, England, and 34, Tara-
naki Street, Wellington, New Zealand, Agent. An invention
for covering or coating the surface or periphery of pulleys or
drums for driving machinery to increase the gripping-power,
and prevent the slipping of belts, called "The Power-saving
Pulley-covering." (Specification, 3s. 6d.)
