Now, this is to command you that within eight days after service hereof on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do appear in our said Court, at Auckland, then and there to make answer to the said petition, a copy whereof, sealed with the seal of our said Court, is herewith served upon you: And take notice that, in default of your so doing, the said Court will proceed to hear the said charge proved in due course of law, and to pronounce sentence therein, your absence notwithstanding: And take further notice that, for the purpose aforesaid, you are to attend in person, or by your solicitor, at the Registrar’s Office, at Auckland, and there to enter an appearance in a book provided for that purpose, without which you will not be allowed to address the Court, either in person or by counsel, at any stage of the proceedings in the cause.

To Edward Tennyson Conolly, Esquire, a Judge of the said Court; the 27th day of January, 1894. The petition of ORLANDO INMAN KEMPTHORNE, of the City of Wellington, New Zealand, Chemist and Druggist, showeth,—

THAT your petitioner was, on the 7th day of October, 1886, lawfully married to Jessie Sarah Hay, then a spinster, at St. Peter’s Church, in the said City of Wellington.

That, after his said marriage, your petitioner lived and cohabited with his said wife in the said City of Wellington, and at Karori, near the said city; and that your petitioner and his said wife have had issue of their said marriage two children, to wit, Eustace Franklyn Kempthorne, who was born on the 3rd day of March, 1889, and died on the 3rd day of May, 1889, and Reginald Cyril Kempthorne, who was born on the 3rd day of August, 1890, and is still living.

That, in or about the month of October, 1893, at the City of Auckland, New Zealand, the said Jessie Sarah Kempthorne cohabited with one Rogers, whose name is otherwise unknown to the petitioner, as his wife, for seven days or thereabouts, and committed adultery with him.

That, on divers occasions during the months of November and December, 1893, at the said City of Auckland, the said Jessie Sarah Kempthorne committed adultery with one James Hawks, of the said City of Auckland.
Your petitioner therefore humbly prays that the Court will be pleased to decree that his marriage with his said wife be dissolved, and that your petitioner may have such further and other relief in the premises as to the Court may seem meet.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, under the style of “Waller and Oakden,” has this day been dissolved by mutual consent, and that the undersigned, Charles Edward Ernest Waller, will pay all debts and liabilities and receive all moneys payable to the said late firm.

MATAMATA ROAD BOARD.
Notice to Open a Road under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and Amendments thereof.
PUBLIC Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Matamata Road Board to open a road, 200 chains long (more or less) and 100 links wide, from the Stanley Road to the Lichfield–Te Aroha Road, through part of Turanga o Moana Block and part of Okauia No. 1a, Matamata Road Board District, Piako County, Tapapa Survey District, Blocks III. and IV., in the Provincial District of Auckland.
Plans of the road to be taken are now open for inspection at the office of the Matamata Road Board, “The Tower,” Matamata, and objections (if any) to the taking of the said road must be lodged in writing, and addressed to the Chairman, at Matamata, within forty days of the date hereof.

THE GREYMOUTH AND KUMARA TRAMWAY COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that the shareholders of the above-named company, registered under “The Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860,” did, at an extraordinary general meeting, held at Greymouth, on the 18th day of January, 1894, pass the following special resolution: “That the Greymouth and Kumara Tramway Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily, and that the directors be appointed liquidators.”
The above resolution was confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting held at Greymouth, on the 20th day of February, 1894.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and in the matter of the Greymouth Harbour-works under construction by the Greymouth Harbour Board.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, a copy of the plan and book of reference showing the land running along and crossing the various quays and streets from the quarry on the south side of the Grey River to the tip head on the said south side of the Grey River, proposed to be taken for the purpose of carrying out the Greymouth Harbour-works, have been deposited at the office of the Greymouth Harbour Board, and that the same are open for public inspection, free of charge, during the usual office-hours of the Greymouth Harbour Board: And it is hereby further notified that all persons affected by such proposed taking and works are hereby required to set forth, in writing, any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing to the Greymouth Harbour Board within forty days from the first publication of this notice.
