THE following special order, made by the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

MOA ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that this Board proposes to make the following special order :—

“That, to secure the repayment of a loan of £500, raised under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of metalling the Kaimata Road South, a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be made and levied over the following lands, which are hereby constituted ‘The Kaimata South Special Rating District’ : Sections Nos. 42, 43, 54, Block I. ; Nos. 13, 14, Block II. ; and Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 15, 16, 17, 18, 59, 61, Block VI., Huiroa Survey District. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years; and to be payable in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st of January and 1st of July in each year.

Special Order made by the Wirokino Road Board, County of Horowhenua.

THE following special order, made by the Wirokino Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

WIROKINO ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT notice be given that it is the intention of this Board, at a special meeting, to be held at Levin, on Monday, 26th February, 1894, to make a special order creating a special district, to be called “The Tavistock Road Special District,” comprising Sections Nos. 1 to 16 inclusive, Block XIV., Mount Robinson Survey District; Sections Nos. 1 to 16 inclusive, Block II.; and Sections Nos. 1, 2, and 3, Block III., Waiopehu Survey District, for the purpose of raising a loan of £250 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to make a deviation of the present road, as shown on plan deposited at the Road Board’s office, Levin, and signed by the Chairman of the Board.

Special Meeting.

“That the special order of which notice was given at a meeting of the Board held on Saturday, 27th January, 1894, creating a special district, to be called ‘The Tavistock Road Special District,’ having been publicly notified, be now confirmed.”

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made by the Wirokino Road Board according to the regulations of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Manchester Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD, COUNTY OF OROUA.

Copy of a Special Order made on the 6th day of January, and confirmed on the 3rd day of March, 1894.

That a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound be made upon the rateable value of the whole of the rateable property (Crown and Native lands occupied by Native owners excepted) within the boundaries of No. 2 Subdivision of the Manchester Road District, for the purpose of paying interest on a loan of £600 to be borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and payable in equal instalments, at the Board’s office, on the 1st day of April and October in each year.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Licensing of Vehicles.—By-law made by the Rangitikei County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 311 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” that so much of the by-law made by the Rangitikei County Council, and sealed on the 3rd day of February, 1894, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the county fund for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

Notification of Vacancy in the House of Representatives for the Waitemata Electoral District.

Wellington, 5th March, 1894.

THE Court for the trial of an election petition under the provisions of “The Election Petitions Act, 1880,” having on the 9th day of February, 1894, at the conclusion of the said trial at Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, declared the election of Richard Monk as a member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Waitemata to be void, His Excellency the Governor, in compliance with the provisions of the 136th section of “The Electoral Act, 1893,” directs it to be notified that a vacancy exists in the seat of the member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Waitemata, and that the cause of such vacancy is the declaration of the said Court as hereinbefore mentioned.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Patea County Council.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Patea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT of Poll for Loan of £3,000 for rebuilding Whenuakura Bridge, Patea County Council.

NOTICE is hereby given that the result of the poll taken on 26th February, 1894, on the proposal to borrow £3,000 for constructing a road-bridge over the Whenuakura River, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and amendments, is as follows :—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 519; number of votes exercisable, 886; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 221; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 437; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 8; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 9; number of ratepayers voting informally, 4; number of informal votes, 5.

As neither a majority of votes were recorded for nor a majority of voters voted in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal lost.
