place at the Borough Council Chambers at Greytown,
that Alexander Low Webster shall be the Returning Officer
to conduct such election, and that the first meeting of the
said Board shall take place at the Board’s Office at Grey-
town, on the sixth day of March next, at the hour of eight
in the evening, and, lastly, that the provisions of “The
Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” so far as appli-
cable, shall extend to the election to be held hereunder.

Appointing Local Bodies to have authority throughout Licensing Districts.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by the ninth section of “The Alco-
holic Liquors Sale Control Act, 1893,” I, David, Earl of
Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint the local bodies named in the first column
of the Schedule hereto to have authority for the purposes of
the Licensing Acts throughout the licensing districts re-
spectively named in the second column of the said Schedule
opposite the name of each such local body respectively, and
to make all necessary appointments, and do all things re-
quired for the conduct of elections, or the taking of a poll
of electors, and to have the general administration of the
Licensing Acts within such licensing districts respectively.

Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having
received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that
the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the fourth day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may,
at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in
perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected
on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased,
as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
