dressing flax under and subject to the provisions of “The
Mining Act, 1891,” “The Mining Act Amendment Act
(No. 2), 1893,” and the regulations made thereunder, the
said licensee paying therefor yearly in advance the rent or
sum of pounds shillings and
pence, and also, half-yearly, a royalty of 6d. for every ton
of green flax cut or taken from the said land during the
said term :
Provided always, and it is also made an express condition,
that this license, and any right or authority by virtue of it,
shall be surrendered upon demand of the Warden for the
said district of , or other person duly authorised by
the Minister of Mines in that behalf, at any time, after
notice of not less than thirty days, should the land de-
scribed in this license, or any part of it, be required for any
public purpose, without any refund of rent or right to com-
pensation to the said licensee :

Fixing Shooting Season for Deer, License-fee, &c., Nelson
District.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals
Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection
Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that red-deer stags and fallow-deer bucks may be taken or
killed within the Nelson District, comprising the Counties of
Waimea, Buller, and Collingwood, from the seventeenth day
of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four,
to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-four, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the
restrictions in the said Acts mentioned); and I do further
notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said
district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty
shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the
Chief Postmaster at Nelson and the Postmaster at Westport
are hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.

Notifying Lands in Auckland for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of
“The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
the dates hereunder given as those upon which the lands
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction, and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said
lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule
hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having
received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the
rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-first day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease
in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected
on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased,
as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
