ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of December, 1893.

THE HONOURABLE SIR P. A. BUCKLEY, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the fifth section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” a majority of the ratepayers in the district described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Manawatu, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand praying that the land comprised in the said district be constituted a drainage district under the provisions of the said Act: Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fifth section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby constitute and declare the block of land described in the said petition, and in the Schedule hereto, to be a district for the purposes of Part I. of the said Act, and to be called by the name of “The Sluggish River Drainage District”; and also, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the ninth section of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the Board of Trustees for the said district shall consist of five members, to be elected under and in accordance with the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District containing 10,400 acres, more or less, situated in the Te Kawau Survey District, County of Manawatu. Bounded towards the north by the road forming the northern boundary of Subdivision 106 of Section 384, Blocks VII., VIII., XI., and XII., and by Subdivisions 55, 34, and 30 of said Section 384, and the southern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the middle of the Oroua River; towards the east generally by a line along the middle of the Oroua River; towards the south by the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway Reserve; and towards the west generally by Sections 337 and 320, Block XV., and Section 318, Block XI., a road-line, and Sections 70 and 69, said Block XI.

Amending Dues and Rates for Use of Kaikoura Wharf.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section four of “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1879,” that the power granted to the Governor in Council by the seventeenth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” in respect of prescribing what dues and rates may be charged on wharves vested in local bodies, may be exercised from time to time as occasion may require, and shall not be limited as in the said section is provided: And whereas dues and rates to be charged for the use of the Kaikoura wharf and goods-shed (the management of which was, by Order in Council dated the second day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, vested in the Kaikoura County Council) were prescribed by Order in Council dated the fifteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventeenth day of January in the same year: And whereas such dues and rates were amended by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of the same month: And whereas it is expedient to further amend the dues and rates prescribed by the said Order in Council of the fifteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority granted to him by “The Harbours Act, 1878,” “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1879,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby prescribe that the additional dues and rates specified in the Schedule hereto shall be charged and taken, on and after the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette, for the use of the said wharf and goods-shed; and such dues and rates shall be applied to keeping the above-mentioned wharf and goods-shed and all erections on the wharf in repair, as provided by the said Order in Council of the second day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.
