And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said lands in the Southland County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Southland County, in trust for the purposes specified in the said Schedule, and under the control and management of the Council of such county.

Amending Regulations for Trout- and Perch-fishing, Wellington Acclimatisation District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of December, 1893.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of September then instant, certain regulations were made under “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), providing for trout- and perch-fishing within the Wellington Acclimatisation District as therein defined: And whereas by a further Order in Council, bearing date the twelfth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the nineteenth day of January then instant, the said regulations were in part amended: And whereas it is expedient to revoke such last-mentioned Order in Council, and the amendments thereby made, and to make other provision in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the said recited Order in Council of the twelfth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, and in lieu thereof doth hereby order as follows:—

Regulation number two of the regulations made under “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,” dated the twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of September then instant, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following words: namely, “Provided further that it shall be lawful for the said secretary or his deputy in any case where application is made for a license on or after the 20th day of December in any year, to issue a license to any man for the sum of twelve shillings and sixpence, but so that such license shall extend only from the time of granting the same until the termination of the then trout-fishing season.”

“The Education Act, 1877.”—Payments to Education Boards.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of December, 1893.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Education Act, 1877,” His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth hereby make the regulation hereto annexed regarding certain payments of capitation allowance to Education Boards; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby prescribe that this order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

REGULATION.

NOTWITHSTANDING anything to the contrary contained in an Order in Council made on the 5th day of January, 1888, under the provisions of “The Education Act, 1877,” relating (inter alia) to attendance registers and returns, the payment of capitation-allowance to Education Boards for the quarter ending on the 31st day of December, 1893, shall be according to the working-average attendance of the last-preceding quarter, as working-average is defined by Order in Council dated the 5th day of July, 1887, and made under the provisions of the before-mentioned Act.

Time and Place fixed for Meetings of the Kaikoura Domain Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of December, 1893.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, in pursuance of the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” delegating the powers conferred by the said Act to the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Kaikoura County, as the Kaikoura Domain Board, in respect to the Kaikoura Recreation-grounds, it was directed that the first meeting of the Board should be held on Wednesday, the eighth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, at the County Council Offices at Kaikoura, at the hour of two o’clock p.m.:

And whereas no meeting of the Board has been held as directed by the Order in Council aforesaid:

And whereas it is expedient to fix a time and place for the meetings of the Kaikoura Domain Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth by this present Order amend the first clause of the Order in Council issued on the ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent doth hereby order and direct that the first meeting of the Kaikoura Domain Board shall be held at the County Council Offices at Kaikoura, on Saturday, the sixteenth day of December next, at the hour of two o’clock p.m., and that subsequent meetings shall be held at such other time and place as may from time to time be fixed by the Domain Board.

Abolishing Annual Fee for Use of Foreshore on which Tauranga Baths constructed.

GLASGOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of December, 1893.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 69, of the tenth day of December in the same year, the Tauranga Improvement Company (Limited) was, in pursuance of the provisions of “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1883,” licensed and permitted to use and occupy a portion of the foreshore and of the land below low-water mark in Tauranga Harbour, for the purpose of constructing or erecting baths thereon:

And whereas it is provided by clause two of the conditions of the said Order in Council that the said company shall, in consideration of the concessions and privileges granted thereby, pay to the Minister having charge of the Marine Department an annual sum of one pound:

And whereas the rights, powers, and privileges conferred by the said Order in Council have, with the consent of the said Minister, been transferred to the Tauranga Borough Council:
