THE CHEVIOT ESTATE.
NOTICE is hereby given that
FIFTY-FOUR FARMS,
comprising 12,482 acres of First- and Second-
class Agricultural Land, will be open for appli-
cation for
LEASE IN PERPETUITY
on and after Monday, the 13th day of November,
1893, at the Land Offices, Christchurch, Timaru,
and Cheviot.
Rents from 2s. to 11s. per acre per annum.
Areas from 83 acres to 485 acres.
Also,
THREE GRAZING-FARMS,
comprising 2,506 acres, for Lease for twenty-one
years.
SIXTY-SIX VILLAGE-SETTLEMENT ALLOTMENTS
will be open for selection for LEASE IN PER-
PETUITY.
Rents from 3s. to 12s. per acre per annum.
Areas from 4½ acres to 77 acres.

Terms of Sale.—One-fifth of the purchase-money to be

with £1 Crown-grant fee, within thirty days of the date of

Description of Section 1, Block XIII., Waihua Survey
District.—About 7 acres are under scrub, the remainder
being open, sloping gently from sea-coast for about 5 chains,
and then falling rapidly towards the creek. Pastoral
land; soil good in the flat parts, but very poor where steep.
Papa formation; no pumice. Well watered. About three
miles from Mohaka Ferry. No road-access.

Terms of Sale.—The purchaser shall pay 50 per cent. of
the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the
balance within thirty days from the date of sale. He shall
have the sole use of the land, and the right to cut and
remove all timber thereon, during a period of twelve months
from the same date.
The following lands will be offered by public auction at
the Crown Lands Office, Gisborne, on the same date, at
11 a.m.

poorly grassed with snow-tussock; contains also about 1,130
acres of birch bush; height above sea-level, from 1,300ft. to
5,000ft.; distance from Mossburn Railway-station about 15
miles. This run will be burdened with £76 16s., being half
the value of boundary-fence.
Hilly, poor land; poorly grassed with snow-tussock and a
sparse mixture of silver-tussock; yellow-clay formation;
southern aspect; height above sea-level, from 1,200ft. to
1,900ft.; distance from Mossburn Railway-station, about 12
miles. This run will be burdened with £94 4s., being half
the value of boundary-fence.
Undulating poor land; poorly grassed with snow-tussock
and a sparse mixture of silver-tussock; yellow-clay for-
mation; eastern aspect; height above sea-level, from
1,300ft. to 1,900ft.; distance from Mossburn Railway-station,
about 11 miles. This run will be burdened with £54 12s.,
being half the value of boundary-fence.
Conditions of Lease.
- The term of lease is twenty-one years, with the option
of renewal for a further period of twenty-one years, at a rent
to be fixed by valuation, and improvements being secured to
lessee as provided by "The Land Act, 1892," section 132.
Each lessee is required to make the declaration as per form
printed hereon.
