NOTICE is hereby given that
FIFTY-FOUR FARMS,
comprising 12,482 acres of First- and Second-
class Agricultural Land, will be open for appli-
cation for

LEASE IN PERPETUITY

on and after Monday, the 13th day of November,
1893, at the Land Offices, Christchurch, Timaru,
and Cheviot.
Rents from 2s. to 11s. per acre per annum.
Areas from 83 acres to 485 acres.

THREE GRAZING-FARMS,
comprising 2,506 acres, for Lease for twenty-one
years.

SIXTY-SIX VILLAGE-SETTLEMENT ALLOTMENTS

Conditions of Lease.
Term of lease: Ten years, without right of renewal.
Rent payable half-yearly in advance.
No compensation for improvements will be paid during
either the currency or at the termination of the leases; but
lessees will have the right to remove all fencing and buildings
prior to expiration of leases.

Leases of Small Grazing-runs, Southland, open for
Application.

NOTICE is hereby given that leases of the under-men-
tioned small grazing-runs will be open for application,
at this office, on Tuesday, the 7th November, 1893, at the
rental noted opposite each run.

miles. This run will be burdened with £76 16s., being half
the value of boundary-fence.

the value of boundary-fence.

Undulating poor land; poorly grassed with snow-tussock
and a sparse mixture of silver-tussock; yellow-clay for-
mation; eastern aspect; height above sea-level, from
1,300ft. to 1,900ft.; distance from Mossburn Railway-station,
about 11 miles. This run will be burdened with £54 12s.,
being half the value of boundary-fence.

Conditions of Lease.

  1. The term of lease is twenty-one years, with the option
    of renewal for a further period of twenty-one years, at a rent
    to be fixed by valuation, and improvements being secured to
    lessee as provided by "The Land Act, 1892," section 182.
    Each lessee is required to make the declaration as per form
    printed hereon.

  2. No person can lease more than one run.

  3. Residence on the run is compulsory, and com-
    mcnces within three years in bush or swamp land, and
    within one year in open or partly open land, unless the lessee
    obtain the consent of the Land Board to reside on other
    land in his occupation.

  4. Permanent improvements must be effected equal to one
    year's rental by the end of the first year, two years' rental
    by the end of the second year, and four years' rental at the
    end of the sixth year; and on bush land, in addition thereto,
    improvements must be made to the value of 10s. an acre if
    first-class land, or of 5s. an acre if second-class land.

  5. One half-year's rent and £1 1s. for the lease must ac-
    company the application; the rent to be paid half-yearly
    in advance during the term of the lease. The next payment
    of rent will become due on the 1st September, 1894.

  6. The lessee has no right to purchase any part of the
    land; but he can select 150 acres around the homestead
    through which no road can be taken or other public privilege
    exercised without compensation.
