INNER ROUTE TO Torres STRAITS.—BEACONs ON e AND b
REEFS.

Notice is herby given that the black beacon on e Ree, off
Cook Harbour, is down. The black beacon on b Ree, near
the hope Island, became dlapidated last year, and, as
advisd in Sailing Directions for 1893, has not been renewed.

These becons will not be replaced, the channel recom-
mmended and used since the estalishment of the Archer
Point leading lights passing to the westward of c and d
Rees, which carry black becons.

REEF off INdian ISLAND, DUSky SOUND, WEST COAST OF
SOUTh ISLAND.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 7th October, 1893.

"Captain FAIRCHILD, of the Government steamer
" "Hinemoa," recently examed the ree reported by
Captain Sincalr, of the s.s. "Taraewra." He found that
this ree is at the small island which lies off and furest to
the south-west of Indian Island, Dusky Sound, and that it
consits of a ledge of roks running from the south and
sout-west sides of the small island for about half a cable.
Thre fathoms of water will be found about a quarter of a
cable and five fathoms about half a cable from the island.

in Force upon the New Zealnd Government Raliways.

THe New Zealnd Railway Commissioners, in exercie
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Raliways Act, 1887," do herby make the fol-
lowing alteraion in and addition to the scle of feres,
rate, and chrges on the New Zealnd Government rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 16th day of
Ocotober, 1893:—
PART IY.—GOOds: LOcAL RAtES.
HURUNUI-BLUFF SCTION.—TALLOW, WASHDyKE TO
DUNEDIN.

Tallow, packd, from Washdyke to Dunein, will be
chrged 21s. per ton, including all chrges. Minimun
quantity, 4 ton per truck.

Alteraions and Addiions to the Scle of Fares and Chrges
in Force upon the New Zealnd Government Raliways.

THe New Zealnd Railway Commissioners, in exercie
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Raliways Act, 1887," do herby make the fol-
lowing alteraions in and additions to the scle of feres,
rate, and chrges on the New Zealnd Government rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 16th day of
Ocotober, 1893:—
PART II.—LUGGAGE, PACKAGES, HORSE, ETC.
BICYCLES, TRICYCLES, AND PEnAMBULATORS.

The rates for bicyles, tricyles, and perambulaors, when
conveed as passngers' luggage, are herby cancelld.

Each passnger will be allowed to take one bicycle or tri-
cycle or one perambulator as " personal luggage. "

Addiional Land taken in Block LXXI., in the Town of
Oamaru, for the Purposes of the Hurnui-Bluff Railway
(Main Line).

A NOTIFICATION.

WHEReAS it has been found desirble, for the use,
convenienc, and enjoyent of the Hurnui-Bluff Railway
(main line), to take further land in Block LXXI., in the
Tow of Oamaru, in addition to land previously ac-
quired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, we, the New Zealnd Railway Commis-
sioners, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on us by "The Government Raliways Act, 1887," and of
evry other power and authority in anywise enbling us in
that behal, do herby notify and declare that the lands
mentioned in the Schedle hereto are taken for the purposes
aboe mentioned.

SCHEDULE.
The parcels of land mentioned hereunder :—

  • A. R. P. 0 0 12.63, Section No. 11, Block LXXI., Oamaru.
  • A. R. P. 0 0 10.64, Section No. 12, Block LXXI., Oamaru.

All in the Provicial District of Otago: as the said parcels
of land are more particularly delineated on the plan marked
5854, deposited in the office of the New Zealnd Railway
Commissi oners, at Wellington, and thereon borded red.

Givn under the common se of the New Zealnd Railway
Commissi oners, at Wellington, this sixh day of October,
(L.S.) in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred

on us by "The Government Raliways Act, 1887," and of
evry other power and authority in anywise enbling us in
that behal, do herby notify and declare that the land
