AUGUSTUS REID PAVITT,
of Woolston, to be Town Clerk of the Borough of Woolston,
as constituted under "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1886"; also to appoint the said Augustus Reid Pavitt to be
Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of Mayor and
Councillors for the said borough; also to fix that the number
of Councillors for the said borough shall be nine; also to
appoint Monday, the 21st day of August, 1893, to be the day
for holding the first election of Mayor of the said borough;
also to appoint Monday, the 21st day of August, 1893, to be
the day for holding the first election of nine Councillors;
also to appoint Thursday, the 24th day of August, 1893, at
7 o'clock in the evening, to be the time, and the Town Board
Office, Woolston, to be the place, at which the first meeting
of the Woolston Borough Council shall be held.

THAT Sections 65-70, 70A, 71, and 72 be transferred from
the Kaukata Riding to the Mataongaonga Riding, and that
the boundaries be altered accordingly.
I hereby certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution
made by the Wanganui County Council at a meeting held
on Wednesday, 13th July, 1892, and subsequently confirmed
at a meeting held on Tuesday, 6th September, 1892.

County of Marlborough.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of
the Pelorus Road Board, are published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1886."

PELORUS ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of Special District No. 1 taken
on Tuesday, 4th July, 1893, upon the following proposals:
- To complete the formation of the Havelock-Mahakipawa
Road. 2. The amount of money proposed to be borrowed is
£600. 3. To levy a rate of 3d. in the pound on the rateable
property in Special District No. 1, as security for the said
loan of £600.
The number of ratepayers on the special roll is 22, repre-
senting 37 votes; the number of ratepayers who voted for the
proposal was 16, representing 30 votes. No votes were re-
corded against the proposal.
I hereby declare the proposal carried.

PELORUS ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Pelorus Road Board
taken on Saturday, 29th April, 1893, upon the following pro-
posals: 1. To complete the formation and metalling of the
main roads of the district. 2. The amount of money pro-
posed to be borrowed is £1,500. 3. To levy a rate of 1/8d. in
the pound on the rateable property in the Board's district
as security for the said loan of £1,500.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 44;
there were no votes against the proposal.
As the number of votes polled is less than half the number
on the roll, I declare the proposal rejected.

PERIOD OF FLASH OF ARMEGHON LIGHT.
On and after the 1st January, 1894, the light, which is white
and revolving, showing a single bright flash every 20 seconds,
will show instead a single bright flash every 45 seconds.
