Special Order made by the Ashburton County Council, altering the Boundaries of Wakanui and Upper Ashburton Road Districts.

THE following special order, made by the Ashburton County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER.

RESOLVED, That the Council do make a special order altering the boundaries of the Wakanui Road District and the Upper Ashburton Road District, and such special order shall be as follows, that is to say,

In compliance with the petition of the ratepayers of the Wakanui Road District and of part of the Upper Ashburton Road District which has been presented to the Council, and in pursuance of the powers conferred upon the Council by "The Road Boards Act, 1882," "The Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1883," and of all other powers vested in it in that behalf, the County Council of the County of Ashburton doth hereby order and declare that the boundaries of the said road districts shall be altered, and that, from and after the day upon which this special order shall be gazetted, the boundaries of the said road districts, and of Subdivision No. 3 of the Wakanui Road District, and of Subdivision No. 6 of the Upper Ashburton Road District shall be as follows; that is to say,

The Wakanui Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury, bounded towards the north-east by the South Rakaia Road District; thence towards the south-east by the ocean; thence towards the south-west by a line along the middle of the River Ashburton; and thence towards the north-west by the Borough of Ashburton and the Great Southern Railway to a point opposite the middle of the Racecourse Road, near the south-east corner of Reserve 1035; thence at right angles to the middle of the Main South Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of the Main South Road to a point opposite the middle of a road passing through the Township of Dromore, near the north-east corner of Rural Section 27035; thence southwards along the middle of said road to the Great Southern Railway; thence along the Great Southern Railway in a north-easterly direction to the South Rakaia Road District, the place of commencement.

Subdivision No. 3.

All that portion of the Wakanui Road District hereinbefore defined which is not included in Subdivision No. 1 (Suburbs) and Subdivision No. 2 (Wakanui Flat).

The Upper Ashburton Road District.

All that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury bounded towards the north-east by the Mount Hutt Road District; thence again towards the north-east and towards the south-east and north-west generally by the South Rakaia Road District; thence towards the south-east by the Wakanui Road District, hereinbefore described, the Borough of Ashburton, the Tinwald Town District, and the Longbeach Road District; thence towards the south-west by the Rangitata Road District; and thence towards the north-west by the Mount Somers Road District to the place of commencement.

Subdivision No. 6 (Dromore).

All that portion of the Upper Ashburton Road District, hereinbefore described, which is bounded on the south-east by the Main South Railway and the Wakanui Road District, hereinbefore described; on the north-east by the South Rakaia Road District; on the north-west by No. 4 Subdivision; and on the south-west by the River Ashburton and No. 5 (Allenton) subdivision.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order has been duly passed by the County Council of the County of Ashburton.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Manganui Road District, County of Stratford.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Manganui Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Ratapiko Road Special Rating District taken on Saturday, 27th May, 1893, upon the following proposal: To raise a loan of £65, under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of completing the erection of a bridge over the Mako Stream, on the Ratapiko Road; to strike as security on this loan a special rate of 1d. in the pound over the following lands—namely, Sections 23, 24, 27, Block X.; 1, 2, 8, Block XI., Huiroa Survey District.

Number of ratepayers on special roll, representing one vote each, 7; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4; no votes were recorded against the proposal.

I hereby declare the proposal carried.

Notice of Dismissal from the Civil Service.

Approving and Appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by "The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882," I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely:

Port of New Plymouth.

A building constructed of wood and iron, situated on Section No. 907, Currie Street, New Plymouth, to be known as GOLDWATER'S BOND.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by "The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882," I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely:

Port of Auckland.

A brick building with slate roof, situate at the corner of Swanson Street and Albert Street, on Allotment 22, Section 17, to be known as EDMISTON'S BOND.
