Lands taken for a Road in Clutha County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road in Clutha County:
And whereas the Clutha County Council has laid before
the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and
also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and
the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that, from and after the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of
the construction of the said road.

Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-three.

Vesting Control of Waikato Bridge at Cambridge in Waipa
County Council, and apportioning Cost of Maintenance.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section four of "The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section mentioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation; and may, by any such
Proclamation as aforesaid, fix and determine whether all or
any, and, if so, what, part of the cost of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing any such bridge is to be
paid by the local authority or local authorities, and, if so,
by what local authority or authorities; and may, by any
such Proclamation as aforesaid, direct how, when, and to
whom any such payment is to be made:
And whereas it is expedient that provision should be made
under the hereinbefore in part recited Act for the purposes
hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance
of the powers and authorities in me vested by the said Act,
and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Waikato
Bridge at Cambridge, shall, from and after the thirty-first
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninetythree, be under the exclusive care, control, and management
of the Waipa County Council (hereinafter referred to as "the
said Council"); and, in further pursuance and exercise of
the powers aforesaid, I do hereby fix and determine that the
cost of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing
the said bridge is to be provided and paid by the local
authorities hereinafter mentioned in the following proportions, namely: Waipa County Council, forty-seven and onehalf per centum; Borough Council of Cambridge, twentyseven and one-half per centum; Piako County Council,
fifteen per centum; Waikato County Council, ten per
centum. And I do also hereby direct that the contributions
hereby required to be made as aforesaid towards the cost of
maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the said
bridge shall be paid from time to time, in the proportions
hereinbefore prescribed, by the Borough Council of Cambridge out of the Borough Fund of the Borough of Cambridge, and by the Piako County Council out of the County
Fund of the Piako County, and by the Waikato County
Council out of the County Fund of the Waikato County,
within a period of ten days after a demand in writing, made
