THE Clerk of the Writs has received a return to the writ
issued on the 12th day of May, 1893, for the election
of a Member to serve in the House of Representatives for the
Electoral District of Inangahua, and by the indorsement on
such writ it appears that

Sir ROBERT STOUT

has been duly elected to serve as a member for the said
district.

Additional Land taken in Block XIV., Tutamoe Survey District, for the Purposes of the Kaihu Valley Railway.

A NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Kaihu Valley
Railway, to take further land in Block XIV., Tutamoe Sur-
vey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the
purposes of the said railway :
Now, therefore, we, the New Zealand Railway Commis-
sioners, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on us by "The Government Railways Act, 1887," and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling us in
that behalf, do hereby notify and declare that the land
mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes
above mentioned.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the fol-
lowing alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 22nd day of June,
1893 :—

REGULATIONS.

Convalescent Home, Wellington.

Goods consigned to the Secretary, Convalescent Home,
Wellington, will be carried free on the New Zealand Govern-
ment Railways.
This regulation will remain in force until the 8th day of
July, 1893.

the Church of England.

In pursuance of the provisions of section 15 of "The
Marriage Act, 1880," I hereby notify that the name of
The Reverend Francis Edward Watson

has been withdrawn from the list of Officiating Ministers at
the request of the Bishop of the Diocese of Dunedin, and
that the said Francis Edward Watson ceases to be an
Officiating Minister within the meaning of the said Act from
the date of the publication of this notice.

with intervals of fine bright days; the maximum rainfall
recorded on 25th, ·900in., and cold weather from S.E.; fine
and bright in early and latter part of month; prevailing
N.W. and S.E. winds, and generally moderate; fog on 20th.
Maximum temperature in shade, 65°·7; minimum, 41°; mean
temperature of dew-point, 48°; mean humidity, 76. Earth-
quakes on 12th, at 8.30 p.m., slight; on 13th, at 6.15 a.m.,
smart; on 18th, at 3.25 a.m., slight, E. to W.; and on 27th,
at 12.15 a.m., light, from E. Meteor on 18th, at 8.30 p.m.,
from S. to W., bright.
