directly or indirectly commit or be privy to a fraud upon,
“ The Land Act, 1892,” the license shall be liable to be
forfeited and revoked :

That the licensee shall prevent the destruction or burning
of timber or bush on the land comprised in the license :

That the licensee shall prevent the growth or spread of
gorse, broom, and sweetbriar on the land comprised in the
license, and shall with all reasonable speed remove or cause
to be removed all gorse, sweetbriar, broom, or other noxious
weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner :
and

That the licensee shall destroy all rabbits on the land
comprised in the license, and shall prevent their increase or
spread, to the satisfaction of the Commissioner or an officer
appointed by him to inspect the ground.

  1. The licensee shall have the exclusive right of pasturage
    over the lands specified in his license, but shall have no
    right to the soil, or timber, or minerals thereon or therein.

  2. One half-year’s rent and a license-fee of £1 1s. shall be
    paid on the fall of the hammer, and the purchaser shall
    make a declaration in terms of section 195 of “ The Land
    Act, 1892.” The rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance,
    on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in
    each year during the term of the license. Should the half-
    yearly rental at any period not be paid within thirty days, a
    penalty of 10 per cent. in addition will be enforced.

  3. No liability is accepted by or on behalf of the Crown in
    respect of any fencing at present existing upon the Crown
    lands offered for license.

DECLARATION.

I, , of , do solemnly and sincerely
declare—

  1. That I am the person who, subject to the provisions
    of “ The Land Act, 1892,” am desirous of becoming the pur-
    chaser of a lease or license of pastoral lands.

  2. That I am purchasing the lease or license of such land
    solely for my own use and benefit, and not directly or in-
    directly for the use or benefit of any other person or persons
    whomsoever.

  3. That I am not the holder of any lease or license in any
    part of the colony, nor have I any interest in any lease or
    license in contravention of section 193 of the said Act.

  4. That I am not the holder of a small grazing-run in any
    part of the colony, nor have I any interest in any such run.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believ-
ing the same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “ The Justices
of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Auckland: Silver or white-metal hunting-watch, No. 27855,
makers Brighton Watch Company, small silver chain, trin-
kets, and brass guard.

Waipawa: Two overcoats.

New Plymouth: Sundries.

Wanganui: Silver lever hunting-watch, No. 94953, maker
Ehrhardt, and steel albert guard; tweed coat, and sundries.

Wellington: Waterbury keyless open-faced watch, No.
53314; double-cased silver Waltham hunting-watch, No.
1898680; silver locket, two brooches, and sundries.

Westport: Three calico tents and two flies.

Christchurch: Silver lever hunting-watch, No. 21682,
maker S. Kohn, Dunedin, very old, steel chain attached;
silver lever hunting-watch, No. 8110, silver chain attached;
ladies’ gold ring, two brooches, and sundries.

Timaru: Three umbrellas, two ladies’ boas, and a dagger
brooch.

Waimate: Blue-cloth buggy-rug.

Dunedin: Brown-check overcoat, brass open-faced watch,
brass chain, greenstone pendant, and sundries.

Invercargill: Nine bags of wool.
