Notice of Request to amend Specification.

A REQUEST to be allowed to amend the specification relating to the under-mentioned application for Letters Patent has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate, of opposition to the amendment, stating in such notice the particular grounds of objection. A fee of 10s. is payable with such notice:—
No. 5710.—JOB OSBORNE, of Doyleston, Canterbury, New Zealand, Farmer. An invention for improvements in, and mode of attaching, clover-threshing or -drawing apparatus to combines.
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows:—

By striking out the words “and position” in line 18.

By striking out the words “cylinder or sheller” in lines 18 and 19, and inserting instead the words “shelling and dressing apparatus.”

By striking out the words “the said cylinder or sheller midway between the front and hind wheels of” in lines 30 and 31, and inserting in place thereof the words “the whole of the shelling and dressing apparatus inside.”

By striking out the words “is placed midway between front and hind wheels of combine and” in lines 79, 80, and 81.

By striking out all the words constituting the first claim.

By altering the figure “(2)” at the beginning of the second claim into the figure “(1).”

By striking out the word “said” in line 2 of the second claim.

By altering the figure “(3)” at the beginning of the third claim into the figure “(2).”

By altering the figure “(4)” at the beginning of the fourth claim into the figure “(3).”

By altering the figure “(5)” at the beginning of the fifth claim into the figure “(4).”

By inserting between the words “parts” and “constituting” in line 2 of the fifth claim the words “(excepting the sheller B).”
The applicant states as his reasons for the request: “Finding that placing the sheller midway between the front and hind wheels of combine is not entirely novel, I desire to abandon that part of my claim.”
