notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting.
3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor.
5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
such meeting.
6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the
members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
Chairman.
7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Mairaki Survey District, Land
District of Canterbury, containing 17 acres 3 roods 33 perches,
more or less. Bounded westward by Section No. 15483;
northward by the road north of that section, 1340 links;
southward by Section No. 15484; and eastward by a line
parallel to the western boundary: and numbered 2422 (in
red) and 2423 (in red) on the official map in the Survey
Office, Christchurch.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries
Act, 1882," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ALEXANDER WHITE

to be a Trustee, in the place of George Remnant, deceased,
to provide for the maintenance and care of the Ngatimoti
Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons
appointed by warrant under the hand of His Excellency
the Governor on the fifteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-one.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-three.

Rural Lands in the Taranaki Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having
received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the
rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the nineteenth day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may,
at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in
perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected
on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased,
as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

All forest land. Sections contain on an average about 100 acres each of agricultural land, remainder pastoral; undu-
lating, well watered. Land in Makuri Valley is a rich black soil, on papa rock; main ridges are about 400ft. above the
valley.

All heavy forest. From 20 to 40 acres of agricultural land, remainder pastoral; broken country, well watered. Forest
contains tawa, rimu, matai, kahikatea, and a few totara. The block is situate about fifteen and a quarter miles from
Stratford by the East Waiwiri and Makuri Roads. About eight miles of the distance is formed as a cart-road, three miles
felled and cleared. The local body has raised a loan to form the remaining distance as far as the township reserve. A
sum of money has been included in the price to cover cost of roading.
