Meeting of the Perseverance Gold-dredging Company
(Limited), in liquidation, will be held at the office of the
Liquidator, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Saturday, the 22nd
July, 1893, at 12 o’clock noon, for the purpose of receiving
the Liquidator’s account, and hearing his explanation with
reference thereto, and instructing him as to disposal of the
books, papers, &c., relating to the company.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly
Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of “The Friendly
Societies Act, 1882,” by writing under his hand dated this
18th day of May, 1893, cancelled the registry of the Onward
Division, Register No. 170 (8), held at Papanui, branch of
the Grand Division of New Zealand Sons and Daughters of
Temperance, on the ground that the said branch has ceased
to exist.

In the matter of a Bill intituled “An Act to incorporate the
Owners of the Mangatu No. 1 Block, and to provide for the
Management of the said Block.”
NOTICE is hereby given that WIREMU PERE, of Gisborne,
Aboriginal Native Chieftain, intends to present a
petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at the
ensuing session thereof praying for leave to introduce a Bill
to be intituled “An Act to incorporate the Owners of the
Mangatu No. 1 Block, and to provide for the Management of
the said Block.”
The objects of the said Bill are to enable the said block
to be dealt with and managed reasonably and economically;
to give to the owners of the said block a statutory title with-
out delay; to declare who are the owners of the said block, and
in what shares; to incorporate the owners of the said block;
to provide for the management of the said land by a Commit-
tee; to confer certain powers as to leasing; to confer certain
powers as to selling to the Government; to make by-laws and
regulations for the management of the affairs of the block;
and generally to complete the title to the said block in such
a manner as to allow of all the owners participating in the
profits arising from the said block, thereby effecting that
which the Native Land Court has no power or jurisdiction
to effect.
Copies of the said Bill will be deposited at the office of the
Examiner of Standing Orders on or before the commence-
ment of the session, as provided by the Standing Orders.

At an adjourned extraordinary meeting of shareholders
of the Southland Stud Company (Limited), held in
the registered office of the company, Invercargill, on the
22nd April, 1893, the following extraordinary resolution was
passed unanimously:—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meet-
ing that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the
same, and accordingly that the company be wound up
voluntarily.”
