by what local authority or authorities; and may, by any such Proclamation as aforesaid, direct how, when, and to whom any such payment is to be made:

And whereas it is expedient that provision should be made under the hereinbefore in part recited Act for the purposes hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Hairini Bridge, shall, from and after the date of this Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Tauranga County Council; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers aforesaid, I do hereby fix and determine that the cost of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the said bridge is to be provided and paid by the local authorities hereinafter mentioned in the following proportions, namely: the County Council of Tauranga, sixty-six and two-thirds per centum; and the Borough Council of Tauranga, thirty-three and one-third per centum. And I do also hereby direct that the contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Borough Council of Tauranga towards the cost of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the said bridge shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, by the Borough Council of Tauranga, out of the Borough Fund of the said Borough of Tauranga, within a period of ten days after a demand in writing, made by or on behalf of the County Council of Tauranga, stating the amount so required to be paid and the purpose for which it is so required, shall have been left at the office of the Borough Council of Tauranga; and the payments so to be made shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the County Council of Tauranga for and on behalf of the County Council of Tauranga.

SCHEDULE.

That bridge over the Waimapu River, known as the Hairini Traffic Bridge, which extends from high-water mark on each bank of the said river, situated on the line of road leading from the Borough of Tauranga towards Te Puke, in the County of Tauranga, Land District of Auckland; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 17724, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon marked in red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

By virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and seventy-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and seventy-two to one hundred and eighty-six of Part V. of “The Land Act, 1892,” relating to small grazing-runs.

A PROCLAMATION.

Whereas by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Otago Land District, situate in Block VII., Swinburn Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1,790 acres, more or less, and comprising Sections Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, and 19.

Crown Grants to issue under “The Waiuku Native Grants Act, 1876.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of May, 1893.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

By virtue and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Waiuku Native Grants Act, 1876,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, do hereby order that the Crown grants to be made and executed for the pieces of land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be to the persons whose names are given in the second column of such Schedule opposite to the descriptions of such pieces of land respectively, and shall contain the several restrictions and limitations specified in the third column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
