Section 3, about 60 acres open land, remainder mixed forest, containing a few scattered kauri and totara, well watered. Section 4, all mixed forest, containing a few scattered kauri and totara, soil a sandy clay, generally broken, but with some good flats in the valley, well watered. These sections are situated about five miles from Towai, Hukerenui.

Section 37, about 20 acres mixed bush, remainder open. Sections 38 and 39, about one-third open, two-thirds mixed bush. Section 44, 5 acres bush, remainder open. Section 45, nearly all mixed bush. These sections are about four miles from Rawene, and are accessible by road or by water up the Whirinaki River.

Section 4, about one-half open fern land and tea-tree, remainder burnt bush, containing about 115,000ft. of dead kauri, of little value, being difficult to get out. Sections 5 and 11, nearly all burnt forest, containing about 85 dead kauri, of little value, being difficult to get out. These sections are about eight miles from Wellsford, and about twelve miles from Matakana, by unformed road.

Shooting Season for Native Game, Kaikoura.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals Protection Act, 1880," and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that native game, excepting tui, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the County of Kaikoura—except on the Lyell Creek, County of Kaikoura, between Lyell Bridge and the sea—from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, both days inclusive. And I do further notify that licenses to sell such native game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Kaikoura is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Shooting Season for Native Game, Lake District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals Protection Act, 1880," and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the Lake District, consisting of the County of Lake, from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to sell such native game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Queenstown is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.
