Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 16th March, 1893.
COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been ac-
cepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in
such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee of
10s. is payable with such notice:—
No. 5639.—6th July, 1892.—George Howe Cook and
Herbert Francis Cook, both of Russell, Auckland, New
Zealand, Whalers, and Donald Henry Ross, of Auckland,
New Zealand, Ship-chandler. An invention for an improved
method of catching whales and similar large marine animals.

No. 6071.—2nd March, 1893.—William Tarrant, of
Petersham, near Sydney, New South Wales, Engineer. An
invention for an improved concentrating-machine, usable
also as an amalgamator. (Specification, 6s.; drawings, 15s.)
No. 6074.—2nd March, 1893.—Walter William Craw-
ford, of Dunedin, New Zealand, Engineer, &c. An inven-
tion for an improved centrifugal butter-drier. (Specification,
3s. 6d.; drawings, 10s.)
No. 6076.—2nd March, 1893.—Benjamin Dawson, of
Duncan Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, Stationmaster.
An invention for distinguishing frozen meat, or any other
form of colonial produce intended for export or otherwise, by
the application of labels, the same to be known as "Daw-
son's Adhesive Labels." (Specification, 2s. 6d.)
No. 6077.—4th March, 1893.—Peter Duncan and David
Duncan, both of Christchurch, New Zealand, Agricultural
Engineers. An invention for an improved grubber-share.

No. 6078.—4th March, 1893.—John Webster, of Christ-
church, New Zealand, Civil Engineer and Surveyor. An
invention for improvements in spring-couple for chains,
traces, drag-ropes, and other purposes requiring elasticity.

No. 6079.—6th March, 1893.—Hugh Dixson, trading as
"Dixson & Sons," of Park and Elizabeth Streets, Sydney,
New South Wales, Tobacco and Cigarette Manufacturer.
An invention for improvements in tobacco-spraying machines.

No. 6081.—4th March, 1893.—Robert Jenkinson, Jun.,
of Park Road, Auckland, New Zealand, Builder. An inven-
tion to be called "Jenkinson's Improved Construction of
Concrete and Iron for Building Purposes." (Specification,
9s. 6d.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)
No. 6084.—8th March, 1893.—John Stevenson, of Wai-
niwa, New Zealand, Blacksmith, and John Edward Haw-
kins, of Invercargill, New Zealand, Gas Manager. An inven-
tion entitled "Stevenson and Hawkins' Weed-eradicator,"
for the eradication of obnoxious weeds, particularly the
Canadian or Californian thistle. (Specification, 1s. 6d.)
No. 6085.—14th March, 1893.—Frank Ashby, of Mount
Brown Flat, Amberley, New Zealand, Farm Manager. An
invention for the centre hangings of gates. (Specification,
1s.; drawing, 7s. 6d.)

No. 6072.—25th February, 1893.—William Eddowes,
of Queen Street, Thames, New Zealand, Assayer, and
John Wylie McPeake, of Pollen Street, Thames, New Zea-
land, Assayer. An invention for the amalgamation of gold
and silver, which will be known under the title of "The
McPeake-Eddowes Gold and Silver Amalgamating Process."
No. 6073.—4th March, 1893.—John Belk, of Feilding,
Wellington, New Zealand, Coachbuilder. An invention for
an improved brake for four-wheeled road-vehicles.
No. 6075.—2nd March, 1893.—Walter William Craw-
ford, of Dunedin, New Zealand, Engineer, &c. An inven-
tion for recovering the constituents of suintate of potash, or
yolk of sheep's wool, when in solution of water or other
liquid, and the application of centrifugal force to the separa-
tion of such constituents.
No. 6080.—4th March, 1893.—David Sturrock, of Timaru,
New Zealand, Engineer, and Emanuel Wooffindin, of
Seadown, New Zealand, Farmer. An invention entitled
"Excelsior Grubber-plough and Harrow."
No. 6083.—10th March, 1893.—William Joseph Garrett,
of Kaikoura, Marlborough, New Zealand, Flax-miller. An
invention for washing and wringing the fibre of New Zealand
hemp, to be known as "Garrett's Automatic Fibre-washer."
No. 6086.—13th March, 1893.—Thomas Waddell, of
Sydenham, New Zealand, Engineer. An invention for im-
provements in the rollers of flax-strippers.
