Grazing Lase of Portion of Foresi Reserue, Auckland, for Sale by Aucton.

NOTICE is herehy given that the under-mentioned land,
being portion of a State forest reserue, will be offered
for leasc for grazing purposes, in terms of section 232 of
"The Land Act, 1892," for the term of seven years, by
public aucton, at this office, on Wednesday, the 31st
Jauary, 1894, at 11 a.m. :—

AuckLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Lots 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 111, 112, 113, 114, Parish of 

Wairau, 938 acr; uspet annual rent, £5.
Rentals to be paid half-yearly in advance.
The lessee will have the right to use the land for grazing
purposes only.
The lessee will have no right to fell or remove from the
land any live or dead trees or timher, whether standing or
lying on the ground.
Free rights of ingross, egress, and regross for any of the
purposes of "The New Zealnd State Foresis Act, 1885,"
shall be given to all persons daly authoriscd in that behaif.
The lessee may remove all fencng and buildings erccted
by him prior to the expiratton of the term of the leasc, but
will have no right to valuation or compensatton for improve-
ments, or right of renawal of the leasc.
Full particulars may be ascertained and plans obtained at
this office.

Township of Danieliown (sitiuate about three miles
from Riverton, on the Riverton-Obatau Road) will be sub-
mitted to aucton in the Land Office, Invercargill, at noon
on Wednesday, the 31st day of January, 1894. Terns: One-
fiifth part purchase-mosy on fall of hamme; balance, to-
gether with grant fees, within thirly days of date of sale.

Villagc-homcstcad Lands, Wellington, open for Application
on Lcase in Perpetuity.

District Lands and Suruey Office, 
Wellington, 6th December, 1893.

IT is herehy notificd that the under-mentioned lands will
be open for application as village-homcstcad allotments,
under Part [V. of "The Land Act, 1892," at the Argyle
Hail, Hunteville, on Wednesday, the 10th day of January,
1894. Aplications must be made on the proper forms, and
will be received at this office and also at the above-mentioned
place. They must be made in person to the Cominissioner
of Crows Lands or other officer of the department, who will
attend there to receive them; but they will not be received
at Hunteville by post. Application forms and full par-
tictilars can be obtained at this office.
These lands are being opened for the purpose of providing
homcstcad sites for intending settlers. Any person putting
in an application in contravention of the conditions under
which the land is opened is liable to be prosecuted for
makiug a false declaratton, and any section obtained therchy
is, in accorclance with the conditions, forfcited. Alleged
ignorance of the conditions will not, after this notice, be
accepted as an excus for persons putting in applications
who hold other lands, and who are not cligible to apply.

These sections are in the Uppcr Wangeihu Valley, on the
eastern side, and lic between the Tackcte and Kotutuku
Streains. The access is from Fordcll to Mangamahii by a
dray-rond for about scventeen miles, and from thence by a
horse-rond up the Wangeihu Valley for about sixteen miles
and a half. The land is, generally speaking, of a slooping and
undulating character, with occnsional flats. The sotl varies
from good to first-class, well watered, and covered with mixed
forest, that on the sections near the river being light.

These sections are situatcd in the Wangeihu Valley, on
the westeru side of the river, abrcast of its confluence with
the Mangamahui Stream, and close to the main road between
Mangakarctu and Fordcll Railway-station, being distaut
about scventeen miles from the latter. All the sections are
either practicnlly level or easy-sloping terrace lands, the sotl
goud, being also clcared and in English grass.

This settlemcnt is on the main road between Hunteville
and Moawhango, on the North Island Main Trunk Railway
line. The distance from Hunteville by metalled road is
about seven miles. The sections consist chiefly of flat and
sloping land. The sotl is good, and, except where the timher
has been clcared, is covered with the usual mixed forest.
Section 7 is weighted for improvcmcnts £10 10s. for husb-
fcIling; Section 8, £3 for husbfclling; Section 9, £32 10s. for
husbfclling and house; Section 10, £51 for husbfclling,
stumping, and two houses; Section 11, £3 for husbfclling;
and Section 12, £10 10s. for husbfclling.
