Powers delegated to the Opunake Domain Board under
"The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of December, 1893.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR P. A. BUCKLEY, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons, for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be
specified in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas, pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,"
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought
under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions
of the said "Public Domains Act, 1881":
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth by this present order delegate
all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned,
except the powers under or conferred by sections five and
twelve thereof, to
The OPUNAKE TOWN BOARD,
which shall be known as the Opunake Domain Board (herein
referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipulations
hereinafter contained, that is to say,--
- The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the second Friday in each month, at three o'clock p.m.,
at the office of the Opunake Town Board, or at such other
time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the
Board. The first meeting shall be held on Friday, the
ninth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-four. - Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting. - Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. - The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
Friday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor. - If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of
such meeting. - If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the
members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint
a Chairman. - All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order
and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in
the Land District of Taranaki which is known as the
Opunake Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the
operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of
"The Public Domains Act, 1881," and such domain shall
hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in
manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 10 perches,
more or less, being Block IV., Township of Opunake.
Bounded on the north-east by Cuvier Street, 480 links; on
the south-east by Macaulay Terrace, 418 links; on the
south-west by Barrett Street, 412.8 links; and on the north-
west by Parris Street, 400 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the
plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, New
Plymouth.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods 3 perches, more or
less, being Block I., Township of Opunake. Bounded on the
north by Barrett Street, 33 links and 318.2 links; on the
east by Parris Street, 262.3 links; on the south by Parris
Street, 33 links; and on the west by McLean Terrace, 387.5
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 7 perches,
more or less, being Block VI., Township of Opunake.
Bounded on the north by Owen Street, 600 links; on the
east by Macaulay Terrace, 418 links; on the south by Cuvier
Street, 535.5 links; and on the west by Parris Street, 400
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 19 perches, more
or less, being Block VIII., Township of Opunake. Bounded
on the north-east by Carrington Street, 443 links; on the
east by Macaulay Terrace, 443.2 links; on the south-west by
Owen Street, 600 links; and on the west by Parris Street,
400 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being
Block V., Township of Opunake. Bounded on the north-
east by Owen Street, 756 links; on the south-east by Parris
Street, 400 links; on the south-west by Cuvier Street, 756
links; and on the south-east by McLean Terrace, 400 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is de-
lineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Sur-
veyor, New Plymouth.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 12 perches, more
or less, being Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block II.,
Township of Opunake. Bounded on the north-east by Barrett
Street, 357.2 links; on the south-east by Macaulay Terrace,
418 links; on the south-west by McLean Terrace, 290 links;
and on the north-west by Parris Street, 400 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is deline-
ated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Sur-
veyor, New Plymouth.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve at
Kaponga, Taranaki.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is
amongst other things enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and in the case of any
reserve made under the authority of section one hundred
and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or
presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other
purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such
reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one
or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor
may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same
is intended to be so made:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my in-
tention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described
in the first column of the Schedule hereto from that named
in the said first column to that named in the second column
of the said Schedule respectively.
