Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Clifton.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Clifton County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

CLIFTON COUNTY.

RESULT of a poll taken at Taramouku, in the Ngatimaru Riding, Clifton County, on the 28th January, 1893, on a proposal to raise a loan of £350, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of making a portion of the Pukeho Road, in the Ngatimaru Riding, Clifton County :—
Number on special roll 3, capable of exercising 3 votes; number who voted in favour of the proposal, 3; number who voted against it, nil.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

MANAWATU ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of poll taken at the residence of Mr. T. Hansen, Central Road, Bunnythorpe, on the 24th December, 1892, on the proposal to raise a loan of £250, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to clear, form, and metal the Central Road, Bunnythorpe, and construct a bridge across the Mangaone Stream on the Central Road :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 30, representing 30 votes; 13 ratepayers, representing 13 votes, voted in favour of the proposal, and 17 voters, representing 17 votes, voted against the proposal.
I therefore declare such proposal to be lost.

MANAWATU ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of poll taken at the residence of Mr. William Rodgers, Clevely’s Line, in the Manawatu Road District, on the 20th day of January, 1893, on the proposal to raise a loan of £370, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to re-form and metal Clevely’s Line, in the Manawatu Road District, from Roberts’s Line to the Bunnythorpe Railway Road, and to clear, form, and metal Roberts’s Line, in the Manawatu Road District, from the Bunnythorpe-Kairanga Road to the Bunnythorpe Railway Road :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 13, representing 15 votes; 9 ratepayers, representing 9 votes, voted in favour of the proposal, and 4 ratepayers, representing 6 votes, voted against the proposal.
I therefore declare such proposal to be carried.

WAIMATE ROAD BOARD, TARANAKI.

RESULT of poll taken on the 28th December, 1892, on a proposal to raise a loan of £650, under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of bridging Kaupokonui River and Dunn’s Creek on Skeet Road :—
Number of ratepayers on roll 18, representing 22 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour of proposal 13, exercising 13 votes; votes not recorded, 9.
A majority of ratepayers, exercising more than one-half the total number of votes, being in favour of proposal, I declare proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Pukaka River Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

PUKAKA RIVER BOARD.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 30th January, 1893, to raise loans for river works :—
The number of voters on the roll is 26; the number of votes exercisable 48.

No. 1.—Main-drain Works.
Number of voters in favour 12, exercising 22 votes; number of voters against 11, exercising 20 votes.

No. 2 Works.—Hunter’s Road-line.
Number of voters in favour nil, exercising nil votes; number of voters against 21, exercising 41 votes.

No. 3 Works.—Schooner Creek-line.
Number of voters in favour 11, exercising 21 votes; number of voters against 11, exercising 21 votes.

As the voters who voted in favour of the above loans are less than the majority required, I hereby declare the proposals rejected.

SCOTT’S ROAD, FITZHERBERT ROAD DISTRICT.

RESULT of a poll taken at Mr. Arthur J. Davison’s, Scott’s Road, Fitzherbert, on Monday, the 16th January, 1893, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £400, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to construct a portion of Scott’s Road, in the Fitzherbert Road District. Commencing from the western angle of the southern boundary of Section 348, to a point about 9 chains on the eastern side of the western boundary of Section 319, both sections being in Block VI., Arawaru Survey District :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 8, representing 9 votes; 5 ratepayers, representing 5 votes, voted in favour of, 1 ratepayer, representing 2 votes, voted against, the proposal, and two ratepayers, representing 2 votes, were not recorded; majority of ratepayers in favour, 2; and majority of votes in favour, 1. And I therefore declare the same to be carried.

KAHUTERAWA ROAD, FITZHERBERT ROAD DISTRICT.

RESULT of a poll taken on Mr. J. C. Shere’s Section, No. 307, Block VII., Arawaru Survey District, on Monday, the 23rd January, 1893, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £900, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to construct a portion of the Kahuterawa Road, in the Fitzherbert Road District. Commencing from the north-west boundary of Section 307, Block VII., Arawaru Survey District, to about 10 chains past the north-east corner of Section 317, Block VIII., Arawaru Survey District :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 15, representing 16 votes; 11 ratepayers, representing 12 votes, voted in favour of, and 4 ratepayers, representing 4 votes, were not recorded; majority of ratepayers in favour, 11; and majority of votes in favour, 12. And I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
