✨ Native School Exams, Rainfall Statistics, Meteorological Observations
1544 THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. [No. 91]
Native Schools Code, 1886. The questions set will, how-
ever, be more difficult than those given at the standard
examinations. The examination will be held at convenient
centres on the 19th and 20th December, 1892.
Candidates must, either directly or through their teachers,
send notice to the Inspector of Native Schools, Education
Department, Wellington, of their intention to present them-
selves for examination. Such notice must be posted not
later than the 31st October next.
Copies of the regulations and forms of notice may be
obtained from teachers of Native schools and boarding insti-
tutions, the Secretaries to Education Boards, or the Secre-
tary for Education.

REMARKS.—First three days very wet from S.E., 1·55in. of
rain recorded on 2nd, the maximum fall for month; fine
from 4th to 10th with fresh N.W. wind; middle of
month showery, and strong gales on 14th, 15th, and 16th
from N.W.; from 23rd to end of month generally fine, with
moderate variable wind, and cool. Prevailing N.W. and
S.E. winds. Maximum temperature in shade, 68; mini-
mum, 39; mean temperature of dewpoint, 45·6; mean
humidity, 74. Earthquake on 13th, at 6.43 p.m., from N.,
moderate.
