These sections lie near Bellmount Station, some three miles east of the Waiau River, and on main road up the Waiau Valley; land open, ranging from flat to undulating, soil fair.

Sections 285 and 286 are situated on the Hamilton Burn, east bank, some seven miles south of Mossburn; land consisting chiefly of grassy spurs. Sections 291, 292, and 299 to 301 are situated near east bank of Jacob's River, some three miles north of Etal Creek; land consisting of open spurs covered with tussock. Sections 307 and 310 lie some two miles past of Jacob's River, and some three miles north of Avondale Homestead; land open, consisting of spurs, &c.

VUW Te Waharoa — NZ Gazette 1892, No 90

The Old Government Buildings (depicted) were completed in 1876 and initially housed the entire Wellington-based civil service as well as the entire New Zealand Cabinet. The Executive Council met there until 1948.
