Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than thirty days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

These sections are covered with mixed bush, such as red- and white-pine, miro, a little birch and ironwood. Height above sea-level varies from 150ft. to 500ft.; well watered; soil is for the most part good black loam. Distance by road from Orepuki Railway-station from four and a half to nine miles.

These sections are entirely covered with mixed bush, such as red- and white-pine, miro, &c. Height above sea-level varies from 230ft. to 250ft.; well watered; soil is chiefly good black loam. Distance by road from Orepuki Railway-station from three to four and a half miles.

These sections are entirely covered with bush, and for the most part old sawmill workings; broken and undulating country, soil fair. Height above sea-level from 100ft. to 300ft. Distance from Half-moon Bay by road from three-quarters of a mile to one and three-quarter miles.
