Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, 1892.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Henare Pita, the Native owner of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the certificate of title, bearing date the twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said certificate of title on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

Certificate of title (A. 4, folio 52), dated 29th November, 1882, in favour of Pita Kahe, Henare Pita, and Rawinia Pita, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale, lease, or by mortgage for a longer period than twenty-one years, without the consent of the Governor previously obtained.” | All that parcel of land in the Te Aroha District known as Section 37, Block XII., Te Aroha, containing 120 acres. |

Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than thirty days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

A sum of money has been added to the cash prices to cover the expense of constructing a bridge across the Waiau River and in the formation of roads through the land.
