Land set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.
BACK CREEK BLOCK.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 5,000 acres, more or less, being Block XIII., Rimu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the summit of the watershed between the Maclennan River and Back Creek; towards the south-east by Crown lands; towards the south-west by the Taukupu River; and towards the north-west by Crown lands.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Proclaiming Borough of Danevirke, County of Waipawa.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any portion of the Colony of New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the said Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same is hereby constituted, as from the tenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, a borough under the said Act; and I do further proclaim and declare that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Danevirke, and that the boundaries thereof shall be those described in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the County of Waipawa bounded towards the north-east and west by Section No. 35, Block III., Taha- raita Survey District; again towards the north-east by Section No. 37; towards the south-east and again towards the north- east by railway reserve and a road-line; again towards the south-east and north-east by Section No. 18; again towards the south-east by the Mangatere River, Section No. 55, a road-line, and Section No. 46; and towards the south-west and north-west by the Tapuata Stream: being the boundaries of the Town District of Danevirke, as defined in Proclama- tion of the 7th September, 1885, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 53, of the 17th September, 1885.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Christchurch, this seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.
