Rural Lands in the Hawke's Bay Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Situated about thirty-five miles north-west from Napier, and accessible by a fairly-good dray-road; the land is light and nearly all covered with bush. On Section 56 there are about twenty-five acres felled and a small hut.

Section 88 is hilly and undulating country; some of the soil is of a light pumice nature, well watered; half a mile of the western boundary fenced. Section 89 is open fern country of a light pumice nature, undulating and hilly, well watered; some patches of manuka on section.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road over Land in the Mangatainoka 1a No. 1 Block, Wellington Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor, under the authority of "The Native Land Act, 1873," and the amendments thereof, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the thirtieth day of June, 1890, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant of the date mentioned therein.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land in the Wellington Land District, situate in Mangahao Survey District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 35 perches, more or less, being a road, generally 100 links wide, the western side of which commences at a point on the northern boundary-line of Section No. 135, Block III., Mangahao Survey District, 99 links from the north-east corner of that section; and proceeds thence in a northerly direction over the Mangatainoka 1a No. 1 Block to the Mangatainoka North Road at a point situate north 60634 links and east 17440 links from Pahiataua Trig. Station: as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W. 595, deposited in the District Land and Survey Office, Wellington.
