A holder of remission certificate may select any allotment the cash price whereof does not exceed in amount the sum of money to be remitted under such certificate, and, with his application for such allotment, shall deposit his remission certificate. Where more than one application for the same allotment is made on the same day, priority of choice shall be decided between the applicants by lot. Applications to be made at this office between the hours of 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

IT is hereby notified, in terms of “The Public Revenues Act, 1881,” that written tenders will be received at this office up to noon on Tuesday, the 21st June, 1892, for the leases of the under-mentioned reserves, on the terms stated :—

The term of lease will in each case be for seven years, subject to the right of the Crown to terminate each lease as to all or any portion of the land comprised therein by one month’s notice if the land is required for planting purposes, and by twelve months’ notice if required for any other purpose.

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

The lessees will have the right of occupying and using the lands for grazing purposes, but will be prohibited from cropping the same.

Tenders must be accompanied by marked cheques or post-office orders for six months’ rent to the 1st January, 1893, at the rate offered, and be enclosed in an envelope addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch, and marked “Tender for Reserve No ..”

Deposit to be for amount of rent due to the 1st January, 1893, and thereafter to be paid half-yearly in advance on the 1st January and 1st July in each year.

No claim shall be made on, nor shall any be recognised by, the Crown for the value of any improvements effected upon the reserves by the lessees.
