This reserve is situated at Barry’s Pass, adjoining the main road from Little River to Akaroa, about a quarter-mile westward of the Hill Top Hotel, and comprises hilly and undulating land, formerly covered with forest, but now roughly cleared and well grassed. A sum of £37 16s. must be paid on the fall of the hammer for the improvements on the land, consisting of fencing.

A holder of a remission certificate may select any allotment the cash price whereof does not exceed in amount the sum of money to be remitted under such certificate, and with his application for such allotment shall deposit his remission certificate. Where more than one application for the same allotment is made on the same day, priority of choice shall be decided by lot between the applicants.

Applications to be made at this office between the hours of 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This section is situated immediately below the high terrace on the south-west side of the south branch of the Ashburton River. It has frontage on the Shepherd’s Bush Road, about one and three-quarter miles north-east of the Westerfield Railway-station, and is distant about eight miles in a north-westerly direction from the Town of Ashburton. The section comprises soil of fair quality, but is liable to flood.

A deposit of one-fifth of the purchase-money shall be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, together with a Crown-grant fee of £1, within thirty days thereafter, or the deposit will be forfeited and the sale cancelled.

There are no restrictions or limitations incumbent upon purchasers of cash lands at auction.

Plans may be seen and further particulars obtained at this office.

The kauri averages from 3ft. to 4ft. in diameter.

Section 35A contains about 3,753,000ft. of kauri; 35B, contains 1,014,000ft. dead kauri and 3,072,000ft. green kauri; 35C contains 1,596,000ft. dead kauri-timber and 1,347,000ft. green kauri. The timber can be got out down the Waionepu to the Wairoa, or tramway laid to Otaika or Mangapai.

Terms of Sale: One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee, within thirty days thereafter, otherwise the part of the purchase-money paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land shall be null and void.

Plans may be seen at the local post-offices and at this office.
