VII., Opuawhanga Survey District, by a public road, by Sections Nos. 18, 8, and 12 of the same block, and by the Forest Reserve; towards the east generally by the Forest Reserve and by Section No. 6 of Block VIII., Opuawhanga Survey District; again towards the north by said Section No. 6 and the Forest Reserve; again towards the east by Sections Nos. 14 and 15 of Block VIII. aforesaid; towards the south generally by Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 11 of Block VIII., Sections Nos. 16 and 11 of Block VII., and by land set apart for homestead selection in Gazette of the 3rd March, 1892, page 436; again towards the east by said land for homestead selection and by Sections Nos. 21 and 15 of Block VII. aforesaid; towards the south by Sections Nos. 4, 3, 2, 5, 6, and 7 of Block XI., Opuawhanga Survey District; and towards the west generally by Sections Nos. 13 and 20 of Block VII., Opuawhanga Survey District, by Section No. 11 of Block XII., Hukerenui Survey District, by Sections Nos. 5 and 7 of Block VII., Opuawhanga Survey District, by a public road, and by Sections Nos. 10 and 19 of Block VII. aforesaid to the point of commencement.

Two-thirds open land, fern, and tea-tree, remainder mixed forest. Land is very broken and of inferior quality, clay soil. Situated about ten miles from Kamo, and about five miles from Hikurangi.

Price, 7s. 6d. an acre.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

KAWHIA COUNTY.— UNSURVEYED LAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in Blocks II. and IV., Awakino North Survey District, and Blocks I. and V., Awakino East Survey District, and containing approximately 24,500 acres. Bounded towards the north by the Kinohaku West Block; towards the east generally by the Awakino River; towards the south generally by the Awakino River, Section No. 1 of Block IX., and Section No. 1 of Block VI., Awakino North Survey District; and towards the west generally by the Manganui and Mangakahikatea Streams to the point of commencement.

All very broken forest land, only fit for pastoral purposes, situated about ten miles from the mouth of the Mokau River. It is not accessible by any formed roads as yet.

Price, 7s. 6d. an acre.
