A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Marriage Act, 1880,"
I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing
marriage district known as the Masterton District, and do
proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised
within the said district is hereby divided anew into two
marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall
be as follow:—

MASTERTON DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-east generally by a right line
bearing 115° 30' magnetic from the summit of the Tararua
Range to the Makakahi River, at a point where the production
of the western boundary-line of Section No. 21, Block
XIV., Tararua Survey District intersects the said river;
thence by the said river, the southern and eastern boundary-
line of Section No. 1, Block XIV., the north-eastern boundary-
line of Section No. 172, the western and eastern boundaries
of a Native reserve, the northern boundary of Section No.
128, part of the western and the northern boundary-lines of
Section No. 130, Block XIII., Mangaone Survey District,
the north-west boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 54 and 56,
Hastwell Village Settlement, the north-western and northern
boundary-lines of Section No. 58, the western and the
northern boundaries of Section No. 61, part of the western,
the northern, and part of the eastern boundary-lines of
Section No. 139; thence by the northern boundary-line of
Section No. 67; thence by a line along the middle of the
road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 67 and
72, by the eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 65 and 18,
by the north-east boundary-lines of Section No. 9 (Education
reserve); thence by a line in production of the
north-east boundary of said Section No. 9 to the middle
of the road, and thence by a line along the middle
of the road running along the northern boundaries of
Sections Nos. 92, 97, 98, Block III., Kopuaranga Survey
District, and of Section No. 99; thence by Sections Nos.
95, 96, and 16, Block IV., Kopuaranga Survey District, by
Section No. 22, Block I., Mangapakeha Survey District, by
Sections Nos. 22, 27, and 26, Section No. 310 (College
reserve), and Section No. 151 (Education reserve); towards the
south-east by Sections Nos. 824, 156, 155, 154, 153, 811, 812,
869, 870, 871, 875, 874, 867, and 518, all of last-named district; again towards the north-east generally by Sections
Nos. 518, 519, 616, 725, 729 of Mangapakeha Survey District,
Sections Nos. 268, 267, 266, 262, 259, and 241 of Rewa Survey
District, and by the Mangapokia River to its confluence with
the Whareama River, and thence by the said Whareama
River to the ocean; again towards the south-east by the
ocean to the Kaiwhata River; thence towards the south-west
generally by the right bank of the said Kaiwhata River to a
point bearing north 85° west to the southernmost corner of
Section No. 130, Wainuioru Survey District; thence by a
right line to that corner; thence by the left bank of the
Ruamahanga Stream to the Wainuioru River; thence by
the right bank of that river to Section No. 79, Wainuioru
Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 79 and Section
No. 76, Block XIV., Section No. 75, Block XV., Sections
Nos. 63, 51, and 50, Block XIV., and Section No. 48,
Block X., all of Otahoua Survey District, and by Te Kahu
Native Block to a point due south (magnetic) from the
southernmost corner of Section No. 102 of the said Otahoua
Survey District; thence by a right line to that corner;
thence by the southern boundary-line of the said Section No.
102 and the southern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 103,
104, 105, and 95 to the Taueru River; thence by the left
bank of that river to the Ruamahanga River; thence by the
right bank of the said Ruamahanga River and the right bank
of the Waingawa River to the source of the last-named
river; thence by a line due west to the summit of the Tararua
Range; and towards the north-west by that summit.

EKETAHUNA DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-east generally by a right line
from Arawaru Trig. Station to the northernmost corner
of Section No. 20, Block XIV., Mangahao Survey District;
thence by Section No. 1 of the said block, by Sections Nos.
1A, 5, 4, 3, 4A, 33, 27, and 30, Block III., Mangaone Survey
District, and by Section No. 30A; thence by a line across
the Mangaone River and by Section No. 16, Block IV., by
the Pa Valley Road, and by the northern boundary-line of
Section No. 175, Block VIII., of the last-named district to
the Tiraumea River; thence by the said Tiraumea River and
the Waitawhiti Stream; towards the east generally by Sections
Nos. 174 and 175, parts of the eastern and southern
boundary-lines of Section No. 151 (Education reserve), and
the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 310 (College reserve), and by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 26, 27, and 22; towards the south-west generally by
Section No. 21 and by Sections Nos. 17, 18, 101, and 100,
Block IV., Kopuaranga Survey District; thence by a line
along the middle of the road to the north of Section No. 99
and of Sections Nos. 98, 97, and 92, Block III., of the last-
named survey district, to a point in line with the north-east
boundary of Section No. 9 (Education reserve); thence by a
line to and by the said Section No. 9, by Sections Nos. 18
and 65, and thence along the middle of the road forming
the eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 72 and 67; thence
by the northern boundary-line of Section No. 67, part of the
eastern, the northern, and part of the western boundary-
lines of Section No. 139, the northern boundary-line of
Section No. 61, and part of the western boundary of the last-
named section, the northern and north-western boundary-
lines of Section No. 58, Hastwell Special Settlement, the
north-west boundary-line of Sections Nos. 56 and 54, the
northern and part of the western boundary-lines of Sec-
