Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 18th February, 1892.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-mentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate, of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee of 10s. is payable with such notice:—

No. 4985.—12th May, 1891.—WILLIAM ISAAC SPENCER, of Napier, New Zealand, Surgeon. An invention for improvements in, and apparatus for, manufacturing iron from iron-sand. (Specification, 10s. 6d.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)*

No. 5008.—20th May, 1891.—WILLIAM BROWN, Hatter, and JOHN HENRY BROWN, Hatters’ Apprentice, both of Wellington, New Zealand. An invention for an improved method of making violins and other similar musical instruments. (Specification, 6s. 6d.)*

No. 5011.—22nd May, 1891.—BENJAMIN WILLIAMS, of Wellington, New Zealand, Engineer. An invention for improvements in compound reciprocating engines. (Specification, 5s.; drawings, 10s.)*

No. 5296.—16th November, 1891.—THE PARKE AND LACY COMPANY, an incorporated company according to the laws of California, one of the United States of America, carrying on business at San Francisco, California aforesaid, and Sydney, New South Wales, Dealer in Machinery and Supplies (Assignee of John A. Caldwell, of Bay Ridge, Long Island, New York, United States of America, Engineer). An invention for improvements in water-tube steam-boilers. (Specification, 17s.; drawings, 12s. 6d.)

No. 5413.—29th January, 1892.—HUGH BARTON MURRAY, of Mataura, Otago, New Zealand, Engine-driver. An invention entitled “Murray’s Self-feeding Paper-machine,” for feeding single sheets of paper into paper-bag machines, printing-presses, or other similar machines. (Specification, 2s.; drawings, 3s.)

No. 5417.—5th February, 1892.—BENJAMIN CROCKER CROSS, of Tingley, Yorkshire, England, Civil Engineer, and DANIEL CROSS, of St. Germans, Cornwall, England, Gentleman. An invention for improvements in stoppering bottles, jars, and like vessels, and in apparatus therefor. (Specification, 9s. 6d.; drawings, 10s.)

No. 5418.—5th February, 1892.—WILLIAM DUNSMORE BOHM, of 5, Cumberland Villas, Chiswick, Middlesex, England, Metallurgical Chemist and Engineer. An invention for improvements in, and apparatus for, the separation of gold and silver, or either of them, from ores or materials containing them. (Specification, 18s.; drawings, £1 10s.)

No. 5424.—11th February, 1892.—WILLIAM BEARD LAKE, of Rayne, Essex, England, Engineer. An invention for improvements in machines for sewing thatch. (Specification, 13s.; drawings, 17s. 6d.)

No. 5425.—13th February, 1892.—WILLIAM WALKER FYFE, of 41, Hillside Road, Stamford Hill, London, N., England, Hydraulic Engineer. An invention for improvements in amalgamating apparatus for crushed ores and like reduced bodies. (Specification, 8s.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)

No. 5428.—13th February, 1892.—HARCOURT INNES PATON, of Auckland, New Zealand, Artist in Kauri-gum. An invention for an improved method of manufacturing ornaments and ornamental pictures from kauri-gum. (Specification, 3s.)
