REMARKS.
December.—Very fine bright weather early part of month from S. and S.E., and light wind, also up to middle of month
fine from N.W.; during latter part of month slight showers. The maximum rainfall recorded on 27th, ·65in., and generally strong N.W. wind, from which quarter it prevailed. Maximum temperature in shade, 75; minimum, 46. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 55·6; mean humidity, 77. Earthquakes on 4th at 4.40 a.m., two shocks, the second sharp; on 15th, very slight, at 2.30 a.m.
January.—Showery early part of month; prevailing S. wind; 3·40in. rain recorded on 5th, the maximum for month; fine during middle of month; heavy rain, 1·42in. recorded on 18th, and showery during latter part with intervals of fine weather; prevailing S., S.E., and N.W. winds, and strong on ten days; thunder and vivid lightning on night of 4th. Maximum temperature in shade, 77·5; minimum, 48. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 53·5; mean humidity, 77.

Land Transfer Act Notices.
NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels of land hereinafter described will be brought under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1885," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same in each case on or before the 4th day of March, 1892.
RICHARD SMITH THE YOUNGER.—Allotment 87, Parish of Matakoho, containing 60 acres. In Applicant's occupation. 2946.
JAMES SAVAGE.—Allotment 199, Section 2, Town of Opotiki, containing 1 acre. In Applicant's occupation. 2947.
GEORGE EDWARD PETTETT.—Allotment 29, Parish of Pakuranga, containing 102 acres and 32 perches. In occupation of tenant. 2954.

APPLICATION having been made to me to register a discharge of mortgage, No. 8990, in favour of JOHN MACDONALD, of Queenstown, Engineer, of Sections 2 and 13, Block XXXIII., Town of Queenstown, and a declaration having been lodged of the loss of the outstanding duplicate of said mortgage, I hereby give notice that I intend to give effect to the said discharge, and dispense with the production of the said duplicate mortgage, as empowered by section 38 of "The Land Transfer Act, 1885," unless caveat be lodged in this office forbidding the same within fourteen days from the date of the publication hereof.
