THE following special order, made by the Upper Ashburton Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
RESOLVED that, in compliance with a petition presented to the Board, and signed by two-thirds of the ratepayers of the No. 5 Allenton Subdivision, this Board hereby abolishes the said subdivision, and constitutes two new subdivisions in lieu thereof, to be called respectively No. 5 Allenton Subdivision, and No. 6 Dromore Subdivision, the boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
No. 5 Allenton Subdivision: Bounded on the north-east by the middle of the Racecourse Road from a point opposite the middle of Farm Road; on the south-east by Main South Railway to the North Town Belt of the Borough of Ashburton; thence north-westerly along the North Town Belt to the North-west Town Belt; thence south-westerly along the North-west Town Belt to the River Ashburton; on the south-west by the River Ashburton to a point in continuation of the division-line between Lots Nos. 59 and 60, part of Section No. 8767, and through Section No. 20864; and on the north-west by the last-described line and the middle of Farm Road to the middle of Racecourse Road.
No. 6 Dromore Subdivision: Bounded on the south-east by the Main South Railway; on the north-east by the South Rakaia Road District; on the north-west by No. 4 Subdivision; and on the south-west by the River Ashburton and No. 5 Allenton Subdivision.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly passed by the Upper Ashburton Road Board.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Stratford Town Board, County of Stratford.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Stratford Town Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT OF POLL.
THE following is the result of the poll of ratepayers on proposals to borrow £600 for construction of roads in the Town District of Stratford:—
Number of ratepayers on the roll 117, representing 238 votes; number of ratepayers voting for the proposals 63, exercising 131 votes; number of ratepayers voting against the proposals 11, exercising 29 votes.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposals, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes that can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the proposals to be carried.

RESULT of poll taken on the 15th December, 1891, upon the proposal to borrow £2,200, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to form, grade, and metal the whole portion of the Mountain Road (including footpaths), extending from Regan Street (East Road) to Celia Street (Opunake Road):—
Total number of ratepayers on roll, each exercising one vote, 117; number of ratepayers voting in favour of proposal, 62; number voting against, 8.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Total number of ratepayers on roll, each exercising one vote, 117; number of ratepayers voting in favour of proposal, 38; number voting against, 32.
I therefore declare the proposal rejected.
