Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of December, 1891.

THE HONOURABLE MR. BUCKLEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Hone Pero, the Native owner of the lands described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such lands contained in the Crown grant, bearing date the sixteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said lands are hereby removed.

Amended Descriptions of Reserves 361 and 2858, Canterbury Land District.
ONSLow, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-first section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may cancel any notification that may have been made in respect of any wrongly-described lands of any intended reserve, and issue fresh notifications in respect thereof, with amended particulars and descriptions:
And whereas the descriptions of Reserves three hundred and sixty-one and two thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, Canterbury Land District, have been found to be erroneous, and it is desirable that amended descriptions should be published:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby cancel the previous descriptions of Reserves three hundred and sixty-one and two thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, Canterbury Land District, and issue the amended descriptions in the Schedule hereunder written.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land containing 5 acres, more or less, being the northern portion of Section No. 361 (in red), as described in Provincial Government Gazette of the 31st August, 1864, situate in Block V., Mairaki Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road-line, 900 links; towards the east by a road-line, 555·6 links; towards the south by a line at right angles to eastern boundary, 900 links; and towards the west by Section No. 15239, 555·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel-pit.
Also all that parcel of land containing 6 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 2858 (in red), formerly part of Reserve No. 361, and situate in Block V., Mairaki Survey District. Bounded northward by a line parallel to the road north of Section No. 4613 and 555·6 links distant therefrom, 900 links; eastward by a right-of-way, 694·4 links; southward by Reserve No. 2808, 900 links; and westward by Section 15239, 694·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Christchurch. For a plantation.

Warrant setting apart Land for Sale revoked.
ONSLow, Governor.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the warrant of the fifteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, setting apart land for sale under the provisions of sections ninety-five and two hundred and thirty-two of “The Land Act, 1885,” in so far as it relates to the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto.
