Boundaries of Borough of Birkenhead extended.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power vested in me by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district the boundaries whereof are described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby incorporated into the Borough of Birkenhead; and I do further proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said borough shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

LAND TO BE ADDED TO THE BOROUGH OF BIRKENHEAD.

ALL that area in the Land District of Auckland, situate in the Parish of Takapuna, bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 127, from its southernmost corner to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of Allotment No. 11 of Section No. 121; thence towards the north by a right line to the north-western corner of that allotment; thence by the northern boundary-line of the said Allotment No. 11 and the northern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 10 and 8 to the south-western corner of Allotment No. 27 of the said Section No. 121; thence by the said Allotment No. 27 and Allotments Nos. 28, 29, 30, and 31; towards the east by Allotment No. 4 of Section No. 121 aforesaid; again towards the north-west by the said Allotment No. 4 and Allotment No. 3 to the Great North Road; thence again towards the east by the Great North Road to a point in line with the southern side of the road fronting Section No. 3; thence again towards the north by a right line to the north-western corner of the said Section No. 3; thence by the last-mentioned road to Section No. 6; thence again towards the east by the said Section No. 6 and Sections Nos. 5 and 4 to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line across a road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 57; thence by the eastern boundary-line of that section to its south-eastern corner; and thence towards the south-west generally by the Borough of Birkenhead to the southernmost corner of Section No. 127.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOROUGH OF BIRKENHEAD (AMENDED BOUNDARIES).

All that area in the Land District of Auckland bounded towards the north by Hellyer’s Creek; towards the north-east generally by that creek and Kaipatiki Creek and Sections Nos. 125, 126, and 127, Parish of Takapuna, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the north-west by the said Section No. 127 to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of Allotment No. 11 of Section No. 121, Parish of Takapuna; thence again towards the north by a right line to the north-western corner of that allotment; thence by the northern boundary-line of the said Allotment No. 11 and the northern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 10 and 8 of the said Section No. 121 to the south-western corner of Allotment No. 27 of the said Section No. 121; thence by the said Allotment No. 27 and Allotments Nos. 28, 29, 30, and 31 of Section No. 121 aforesaid; towards the east by Allotment No. 4 of Section No. 121 aforesaid; again towards the north-west by the said Allotment No. 4 and Allotment No. 3 to the Great North Road; thence again towards the east by the Great North Road to a point in line with the southern side of the road fronting Section No. 3, Parish of Takapuna; thence again towards the north by a right line to the north-western corner of the said Section No. 3; thence by the said road fronting Section No. 3 to Section No. 6; thence again towards the east by the said Section No. 6 and Sections Nos. 5 and 4 to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line across a road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 57; thence by the eastern boundary-line of that section to its south-eastern corner; thence again towards the north-east generally by the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 58 to the north-western arm of Little Shoal Bay; thence by Little Shoal Bay to Waitemata Harbour; and thence towards the south and west generally by Waitemata Harbour to Hellyer’s Creek aforesaid.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Christchurch, this fourteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.
