REMARKS.
October.—On the whole fine weather during this month, though generally strong winds prevailing from N.W., strong on nine days from that quarter; rainfall below the average, the maximum fall recorded on 7th, ·85in.; thunder on 16th and 17th. Maximum temperature in shade, 70; minimum, 40. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 49·9; mean humidity, 83.
November.—Showery and rather damp weather during early part of this month, although total rain below the average; the maximum rainfall recorded on 8th and 12th, ·40in. Prevailing N.W. wind, and strong or stormy on nine days; fine warm weather towards end of month. Maximum temperature in shade, 75; minimum, 39·8. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 51·2; mean humidity, 81. Cold weather about middle of month and snow on ranges, and hail on 11th.

A SEPARATE Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette is now published fortnightly, containing all notices concerning patents and trade-marks required by law to be gazetted; also, particulars of lapsed applications for patents, expired letters patent, and other information useful to inventors, manufacturers, and others. The Supplement will be issued free to subscribers to the Gazette, and to others on payment of a special subscription of ten shillings per annum, payable in advance to the Government Printer.
