All that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 18, Block X., Maniototo Survey District. Bounded on the north by Section No. 12 of same block, 588 links; on the east by a road-line, 911 links; on the south by a road-line, 600 links; and on the west by Section No. 12 of same block, 790½ links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin. For a school-site.

Bounded on the north by Section No. 1 of same block, 3104 links; on the east by Section No. 15 of same block, 214 links; on the south by said Section No. 15, 3006 links; and on the west by a road-line, 257 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin. Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.
ONSLOW, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly reserved for a metal reserve, being a reserve in Class I. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that the purpose of such reserve shall be appropriated to a recreation-ground, being a reserve in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do, by this notification, hereby declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the day of the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be appropriated for the purposes of a recreation-ground under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881.”
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 62 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 1649, Block XIII., Pigeon Bay Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Reserve No. 935; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 19397 and 31132; towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 31132 and 30378; towards the north-west, again towards the south-west, and again towards the south-east by Section No. 20137; again towards the south-west by a public road; and again towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 1, 35, and 9.

Regulation under “The Land Act, 1885.”
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the fourth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulation for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say,—
- The Land Offices at New Plymouth, Tauranga, Gisborne, Napier, Nelson, Blenheim, Invercargill, and Hokitika will be open to the public on days that are not public holidays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m., except on Saturdays, when they will be closed at 1 p.m.

Regulations under “The Auctioneers Act, 1891.”
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by “The Auctioneers Act, 1891,” His Excellency, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby prescribe that the mode of applying for and issuing auctioneers’ licenses in special districts constituted under section eight of the said Act shall be that set forth in the following regulations, namely:—
REGULATIONS.

In these regulations, when not inconsistent with the context, “Licensing Officer” means the person appointed to grant auctioneers’ licenses within a special district.

Every person desirous of obtaining an auctioneer’s license within a special district shall apply in writing to the Licensing Officer in the form set forth in the First Schedule hereto, and every such application shall be signed by the applicant in the presence of some competent witness, and shall be accompanied by the amount of license-fee payable.

If the Licensing Officer is satisfied, upon inquiry, that the applicant is a fit and proper person to hold an auctioneer’s license, and if the required fee has been paid, and the application generally is in order, such officer shall thereupon grant to the applicant a license in the form set forth in the Second Schedule hereto.

The Licensing Officer shall, immediately upon receipt of an application as aforesaid, indorse thereon, in writing, the actual date of receipt. And such officer may, if he think fit, adjourn from time to time the consideration of any application, but so that the application shall be finally dealt with within two calendar months from the date of receipt thereof.

The Licensing Officer shall, in addition to publicly notifying the issue of each license by him, in terms of section 10 of “The Auctioneers Act, 1891,” also forward to the Colonial Secretary full particulars of each license granted or refused.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
APPLICATION FOR AUCTIONEER’S LICENSE (SPECIAL DISTRICT).

This license shall continue in force until the 31st day of December next ensuing after the date hereof, provided it be not forfeited or cancelled in the meantime.
