Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Wellington, 1st October, 1891.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-mentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate, of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee of 10s. is payable with such notice:—

No. 5141.—18th August, 1891.—BOHUSLAV FIEDLER, of Königliche Weinberge, near Prague, Bohemia, Austrian Empire, Engineer. An invention for an improved match-box. (Specification, 11s.; drawings, 10s.)

No. 5185.—14th September, 1891.—CHEW CHONG, of Courtenay Street, New Plymouth, New Zealand, Butter Merchant. An invention for cooling air to be used in connection with the manufacture of butter or other purposes, the apparatus to be called “Chew Chong’s Air-cooler.” (Specification, 4s.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 5186.—14th September, 1891.—CHEW CHONG, of Courtenay Street, New Plymouth, New Zealand, Butter Merchant. An invention for moulding butter into packages of equal size, to be called “Chew Chong’s Butter-moulding Machine.” (Specification, 4s.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 5189.—16th September, 1891.—GEORGE SCARFE, RICHARD SMITH, and THOMAS ROGER SCARFE, trading together under the style of “Geo. P. Harris Scarfe and Co.,” as Merchants, at Adelaide, South Australia, and ASKIN MORRISON NICHOLAS, of Melbourne, Victoria, Metallurgist. An invention for improved flexible gear and appliances for transmitting motion by means of water or any suitable liquid to sheep-shearing machines. (Specification, 12s. 6d.; drawing, £1 5s.)

No. 5193.—18th September, 1891.—ELIHU THOMSON, of Swampscott, Massachusetts, United States of America, and EDWIN WILBUR RICE the younger, and NORMAN CHAUNCEY BASSETT, both of Lynn, Massachusetts, aforesaid, all Electricians.
