Guy David Porter, Esq., M.R.C.S. Eng.,
to be Surgeon of Her Majesty's Prison at Milford Sound, for
a period of six calendar months, as from the 1st October
proximo.

of Appointment.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make
the under-mentioned appointment under "The Deeds
and Instruments Registration Act, 1886," such appointment
to take effect from the 1st November, 1891:

Land and Deeds Registration District of Auckland.
Charles Storey, Postmaster, Whangarei, to be District
Agent at Whangarei.

The post-office at Whangarei is hereby appointed as the
office of the above-named Agent, and as the place for the
reception of deeds and instruments under the said Act,

1884," for the Otago Acclimatisation District.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred by section 9 of "The
Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,"

James C. Whitelaw, of Owake,
Duncan Dundass, of Tois Tois,
Alexander Christie, of Waikaka,
William Stirling, of South Wyndham,
Edwin Ellis, of Tuapeka,
James Campbell Scott, of Palmerston South,
Thomas Muir, of Palmerston South, and
William McCormick, of Tapanui,

have been appointed Officers for the purposes of that Act
within all that area in the Provincial District of Otago
bounded on the east and south by the ocean from Shag
Point to the mouth of the Mataura River; on the north-
west by Lake County; on the west and south-west by the
Mataura River; and on the north, north-west, and north-
east by the Counties of Westland and Waitaki.

Edwin Pollard, of Clifton, Storekeeper,

have been appointed Officers for the purposes of that Act
within that portion of the Provincial District of Otago
formerly known as the Province of Southland.

Officer transferred to Unattached Active List, New Zealand
Volunteers.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the transfer of
Captain Daniel Cameron,

Greytown Rifle Volunteers, to the Unattached Active List,
New Zealand Volunteers, on the disbandment and formation
of that corps into a rifle-club.

Defence Office,
Wellington, 25th September, 1891.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the disbandment of the Greytown Rifle
Volunteers, on being formed into a rifle-club. Date of dis-
bandment, 7th September, 1891.

The under-mentioned gentlemen therefore cease to be
officers in the New Zealand Volunteer Force, their commis-
sions having lapsed under "The Defence Act, 1886:"

Charles Higgins, Esq., late Lieutenant, Greytown Rifle
Volunteers.

William Bey, Esq., late Honorary Surgeon, Greytown
Rifle Volunteers, and Surgeon on the General Medical
List, New Zealand Volunteers.

Rev. William Thomas Western, late Honorary Chaplain,
Greytown Rifle Volunteers.
