Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

ONSLLOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Sections 54 and E 55, very broken forest land, of fair quality; 180, nearly all poor swamp; 198, open land, adjoining Waipa River; W. portion 21, broken forest land, sandstone and clay soil; 5, 9, and 10, rather broken land, covered with fern and tea-tree, the soil consists of a sandy loam. 38, 40, and 41, open lands, with a small area of swamp; 42, about half forest, remainder open land; 42A, about two-thirds mixed forest; these lands are close to the Matahura River. S.W. 5, open fern land, poor soil; 103, open fern land, fairly good, and level, about two miles and a half from Kaukapakapa; 6, about one-half mixed bush, remainder light tea-tree, land poor; 6A, about 30 acres mixed bush, remainder poor, tea-tree and undrainable swamp; 84 to N.E. 94, open and poor lands, accessible from Whangarei, which is distant one mile; 35, situated on the Mangonui-o-wae River, between Section 31 and the village reserve, undulating land, covered with dense mixed forest, soil a sandy loam, no formed road of access at present.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.
