IN pursuance of regulations under "The Civil Service
Reform Act, 1886," notice is hereby given that for the
Senior Examination of January, 1892, the period of litera-
ture will be the period of the Commonwealth, and the special
books will be Shakespeare's King Lear and The Tempest.

the Native Lands Frauds Prevention Act 1881 Amend-
ment Acts, 1888 and 1889.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Trust Commissioner will,
under the authority and for the purposes of the said
Acts, hold a Court at Otaki, on the 26th day of September,
1891, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, for investigating the cases

place all persons interested in the said cases, and having
objections to the said dealings, are hereby notified to attend.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale
or selection, in terms of sections 3 to 11 of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887," either for cash, on deferred
payments, or for perpetual lease, at the option of the selector,
on and after Wednesday, the 16th, September, 1891. In
cases where more than one application is received for the
same section, priority of choice will be decided by lot on the
following day, at 11 a.m., at the Crown Lands Office, Inver-
cargill:—

19th September, 1891, for a yearly tenancy, terminable
by three months' notice at any time, of Section No. 8, Block
XIII., Opaku Survey District, containing 4 acres 2 roods;
upset rental, £1 per annum.

Tenders must be in writing, addressed to the Commis-
sioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth, and must enclose, by
way of deposit, an amount equal to six months' rent at the
rate tendered.
