A PROCLAMATION.
I N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authority vested in me by the two hundred and sixty-seventh section of "The Counties Act, 1886," and at the request of the Selwyn County Council, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the lands described in the Schedule hereto to be a water-race, as defined by the two hundred and sixty-sixth section of the said Act, to be known by the name of the Waimakariri Gorge Water-race; and, further, that the Waimakariri River shall be a stream which may be taken for the purpose of supplying the said water-race.
SCHEDULE.
WAIMAKARIRI GORGE WATER-RACE.
ALL that area, 75 links wide, situate in the Oxford and Hawkins Survey Districts, commencing at a point on the south bank of the Waimakariri River about 3½ chains west of the Waimakariri Gorge Bridge, and extending south-easterly to the road north-west of Section No. 26160; thence through Sections Nos. 26160 and 3110 and through Reserve No. 2907 to the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 2666; thence within and along the eastern boundary of that section and Section No. 3614; thence through Sections Nos. 3625, 3634, 21993, and 22912, Reserve No. 2906, and Sections Nos. 26422 and 3635 to a point on the south-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section about 4 chains from the southernmost corner thereof; thence across the West Coast Road; thence through Section No. 14347, across the road south-east of that section, through Section No. 14865, across the road south-east of that section, through Section No. 14866, within and along the western side of Junction Road, through Reserve No. 1329, across the Coal Tramway Road and Malvern Water-race Reserve to the Malvern Water-race (Main Race No. 1).

A PROCLAMATION.
W HEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any portion of the Colony of New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the said Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted, as from the date hereof, a borough under the said Act; and I do further proclaim and declare that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Karori, and that the boundaries thereof shall be those described in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF KARORI.
ALL that area in the Land District of Wellington, situate in Port Nicholson Survey District, bounded towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 50 and 58 respectively, Makara, and Native Reserve (366 acres) at Otari to the left bank of Kaiwara Stream; thence by the Borough of Onslow to the northernmost corner of Tinakori North Native Block; thence towards the east generally by the City of Wellington to the north-western corner of Section No. 28, Karori; thence by the Borough of Melrose to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 70, Terawhiti; thence towards the south-west generally by the said Section No. 70 and Sections Nos. 69, 68, and 67 respectively, Terawhiti, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the north-west generally by Sections Nos. 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 44, 42, 43, and 45 respectively, Makara, to the left bank of the eastern branch of the Makara Stream; thence by the said left bank of the eastern branch of the Makara Stream to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section No. 29, Makara; and thence again towards the north by a right line across the said branch and by the said Section No. 29 to Section No. 50 aforesaid.

Rural Lands in the Hawke's Bay Land District open for Sale or Selection.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.
