Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in Hawera County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto form part of lands taken for the purposes of the Foxton to New Plymouth Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such lands to the purposes of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the New Zealand Railway Commissioners that such lands are not required for railway purposes: And whereas such lands are situated in the Hawera County, the local authority of which has consented to the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section five of “The Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1889,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Hawera County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land, 75 links in width, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, situate in the Hawera and Ngaiere Survey Districts, being a portion of the Railway Reserve on the line of railway between Longburn and Waitara; bounded towards the east by the eastern boundary-line of the Railway Reserve; towards the west by a line parallel to and 75 links distant from the eastern boundary-line of the said Railway Reserve; towards the north by a line drawn at right angles to the said eastern boundary-line of the Railway Reserve, from a point opposite 210 miles 4 chains 70 links on the railway-mileage (measured from Wellington); and towards the south by the road which terminates at a point opposite 209 miles 41 chains on the said railway-mileage. Also all that parcel of land, 50 links in width, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, situate in the Ngaiere Survey District, being a portion of the Railway Reserve on the line of railway between Longburn and Waitara; bounded towards the west by the western boundary-line of the Railway Reserve; towards the east by a line parallel to and 50 links distant from the western boundary-line of the Railway Reserve; towards the north by Skeet Road; and towards the south by a line drawn at right angles to the western boundary-line of the Railway Reserve, from a point opposite 210 miles 3 chains 70 links on the railway-mileage (measured from Wellington). As the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 14267, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Land in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the land specified, under warrant of the date given, in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 21 acres 3 roods 9 perches, more or less, situated in the Waihou Survey District, being a road, 100 links wide, traersing the Komata North No. 1 Block (No. 5699), the northern side of which commences at a point on the Waihou River being the termination of the production, in a westerly direction, of the southern boundary-line of Te Iringa o Piroi South Block (No. 5011b); and proceeds easterly generally for a distance of 21795 links or thereabouts to the western boundary-line of the Thames-Te Aroha Railway Reserve: as the same is delineated on Maps Nos. 5969 and 5969A, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.
