Notice of Time and Place for inspecting Plan after Inter-
locutory Order.—Mangapoike No. 1 Block.

Native Land Court Office,
Gisborne, 30th July, 1891.

WHEREAS at a Court held at Hastings, on the 8th day
of July, 1894, and following days, and thence ad-
journed to Wairoa, an order was made respecting the afore-
said block of land, that the names of Waata Karihuka and
others should be registered as the owners thereof, and that a
certificate of their title thereto should be made and issued
when a proper survey should be made: Now notice is hereby
given that the plan of such survey will be deposited for in-
spection at the office of the Registrar of the Court at Gis-
borne, on the 13th day of August, 1891.

If any person is desirous of making objections to the
boundaries of the said block as defined by the said plan, he
must give notice thereof to the Court, stating the grounds of
his objection. All such objections will be heard and deter-
mined at a sitting of the Court, to be held at Gisborne, on
the 3rd day of September, 1891.

Rural Lands open for Sale or Selection, Taranaki Land
District.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale
or selection, in terms of sections 3 to 11 of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887," either for cash, on deferred
payments, or on perpetual lease, at the option of the selector,
on and after Wednesday, the 9th September, 1891.

In cases where more than one application is received for
the same section, priority of choice will be decided by lot on
the following day, at 11 a.m., at the Crown Lands Office,
New Plymouth.

All level, soil light and shallow (volcanic), covered with
mixed forest containing rimu, kahikatea, rata, tawa, &c.;
situate about one mile and a half from the Punehu Village,
which is seven miles from Opunake by a good road. The
section is well watered.

Second-class Land.

Clifton County.—Mimi Survey District.

There are about 70 acres of open grass land, being terraces
and hill-slopes, facing the sea, on the coast-line, fit to carry
stock at once. On the northern part of section, fronting the
Gilbert Road, there are about 70 acres of a good high terrace
mostly all covered with rewarewa, hinau, towhai, wharangi,
and other light woods. In other parts there are about 20
acres of good terrace-land. The remainder of section is one
large gully, with numerous sharp spurs and steep water-
courses; timber as above, with a little kohekohe, mangio,
and puriri, with a thick undergrowth of kiekie, &c. The
Gilbert Road runs through and also forms the northern
boundary. The land lies immediately north of the Pukearuhe
Township, to which there is a good road. Twenty miles
from Waitara.

The general character of the country is broken, with ridge
of papa formation, liable to slip, rising from 300ft. to 900ft.
above the flats, which are rich alluvial land. The block is
well watered, and is situate about twenty miles from Wai-
тара, fourteen miles of which are along the North Road, the
best in the district, and the remaining six are on a new-
formed cart-road up the Mimi Valley. At present the roads
are not felled or formed in the block.

Terms and Conditions of Sale of the Mangaramarana Vil-
lage-homestead Settlement.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 28th July, 1891.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned land will be
open for application under the village-homestead sys-
tem on Thursday, the 3rd September, 1891. Applications
must be made on the proper forms, and will be received at
this office and also at the County Council Offices, Pahiatua.
They must be made in person to the Commissioner of Crown
Lands or other officer of the department, who will attend
there to receive them, but they will not be received at Pahia-
tua by post. Application-forms and full particulars can be
obtained at this office.

This land is being opened for the purpose of providing
homestead sites for intending settlers. Holders of other lands
exceeding one acre in extent are not eligible as selectors.
Any person putting in an application in contravention of the
conditions under which the land is opened is liable to be pro-
secuted for making a false declaration, and any section ob-
tained thereby is, in accordance with the conditions, forfeited.
Alleged ignorance of the conditions will not, after this notice,
be accepted as an excuse for persons putting in applications
who hold other lands.
