Notice of Application to amend Specification.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 11th June, 1891.
A REQUEST to be allowed to amend the specification
relating to the under-mentioned application has been
received, and is open to public inspection. Any person may,
at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette,
give me notice in writing, in duplicate, of opposition to
the amendment, stating in such notice the particular
grounds of his objection. A fee of 10s. is payable with such
notice:—
No. 2668.—DONALD DONALD, of Solway, Masterton, Wai-
rarapa, New Zealand. An invention entitled “The Solway
Eccentric Wool-press.”
The desired amendment consists of filing drawings, and
making the following additions and alterations in the written
portion of the specification, chiefly by way of explanation of
the drawings, and the applicant states as his reasons that he
desires the amendment “in order that the specification
should be more clearly understood :”—

By inserting the words “is constructed in the following
manner,” immediately after the word “press,” in the 1st
line. -
By inserting the letter “A” immediately after the word
“rod,” in the 2nd line. -
By inserting the letter “B” immediately after the word
“lever,” in the 4th line. -
By inserting the letter “C” immediately after the word
gripper,” in the 5th line. -
By inserting the letter “D” immediately after the word
“another,” in the 5th line. -
By striking out the word “special,” in the 20th line,
and inserting instead the words “the features of the.” -
By striking out the word “above,” in the same line,
and inserting, at the end of such line, the words “in the
foregoing specification, and as shown in the attached drawing,
which refers only to the first paragraph.”

fastener for the same.
No. 5039.—DAVID RANKEN SHIRREFF GALBRAITH, of Bell
Road, Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand, Fellow of the
Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland, Metal-
lurgical Expert. An invention entitled “The Galbraith-
Bessemer Non-intermittent Water-gas Producer.”

NOTICE is hereby given that CHAFFEY BROTHERS
(LIMITED), of Temperance Buildings, Swanston
Street, Melbourne, Victoria, have applied to register, under
“The Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1889,” the
trade-mark of which the following is a representation :—

The applicants claim to have used and employed the words
“The Australian Irrigation Colonies,” in combination with
their trading name, “Chaffey Brothers (Limited),” since the
1st October, 1887, such words, “The Australian Irrigation
Colonies,” being used to include their irrigation colony Mil-
dura, in Victoria, and their irrigation colony Renmark, in
South Australia.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade-
mark shall apply.
Olive oils, hops, dried fruits, canned fruits, preserved fruits,
green or fresh fruits, tea, spices, starch, sugar, preserved
meats, honey, confectionery, oilcakes, pickles, and vinegar.
Class of Goods in connection with which the Applicants
desire the Trade-mark to be registered.
Class No. 42.
Any person may, within two months of the date of this
Gazette, give notice, in duplicate, at this office, of opposition
to the registration of the trade-mark.

the Young Men’s Christian Association Buildings, Auckland,
New Zealand, has applied to register, under “The Patents,
Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1889,” the trade-mark of
which the following is a representation :—

The essential particulars are the device and the words
