MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 9th May, 1891, on a proposal to raise a loan of £1,200, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and amendments, for the purpose of (a) forming, grading, and metalling a portion of the Salisbury Road from the Beaconsfield Road; (b) to expend £25 in forming the cross-road.
Number of ratepayers on the roll, 30; number of votes exercisable, 30; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 16; number of ratepayers who voted against, nil; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 16; number of votes recorded against, nil.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers have voted in favour of the proposal, and the numbers so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the resolution carried.

SIR,—With reference to my predecessors’ circular despatches of the 10th of June and 20th of August, 1886, I have the honour to inform you that the Spanish Ambassador at this Court has given notice, on behalf of his Government, to terminate the Commercial Convention of the 26th of April, 1886, between Great Britain and Spain, which will accordingly expire on the 30th of June, 1892.

NOTICE is hereby given that Lieutenant George Pirie, R.N., commanding H.M. surveying-vessel “Paluma,” reports as follows concerning the above rocks, viz. :—
Mid Rock has a depth of 7ft. over it at low-water spring-tides, instead of 16ft. as hitherto charted.
Quetta Rock has a depth of 9ft. at low-water spring-tides, instead of 16ft. as hitherto charted.
